Default GT2 RS is in production. Saw 8 today ...

... in various stages of completion at the factory during a factory tour.

The thing looks menacing! It's gorgeous. Want want want.

Factory tour is pretty cool. Go if you get the opportunity.

GT3 and GT3 RS still being produced along with other 911 variants and Boxsters. Didn't see a Cayman being built though. I thought it was odd.

Yes the tour is really nice. Pretty cool you saw many GT2RSs together that will be hard to copy in real life.

About the Cayman don't worry I think most are built alongside the Boxster at the Valmet plant in Finland.

How do you get a factory tour without a delivery?

You can schedule it I believe thru a dealer, I did one a few years ago when I was already going to Germany for the Nurburgring.

I am not sure that the cayman is produced @ Zuffenhausen I think its only the 911 production line there ... I think the Boxster et al are built elsewhere ...

Boxsters were built on the same line in Zuffenhausen as various iterations of 911 - Turbo, GT3, Carrera etc. A lot more 911s were on the line compared with Boxsters. Could be that all Cayman are built in Finland.

I saw several silver GT2 RSs and a few red. The red looks really good.

Can't wait for my tour for when we go to pick up my 911. That is when they start making the 998/991.

No paint shop or special wishes dept on the factory tour. Apparently you can request a visit to special wishes but must be done in advance. Wish I had known.
