I have the gmg rsr roll bar In my .2 GT3. Bolts in to the rear shock mounts and b pillar. Happy with it, no creaking or noise whatsoever. Looked at the oem bar but was a pain that you can't buy them in the USA anymore and that you need to weld plates, cut the carpet etc. Everyone to their own, but the gmg has been fine. Had it installed by my p dealer no problem.

My research says go with the GMG RSR roll bar. Reasonably priced and great quality.

With any bar, check to see if it will comply with the rules for whatever you want to do. For DEs, pretty much any bar will work fine. However, I've recently found out that the rules for a hillclimb I'd like to try won't allow my DAS bar, oem 6-GT3 bar, or this GMG WC bar. I need plates on the floor, either bolt through the floor or welded onto the floor and each plate must be at least 20 sq in. The seatbelt hole mounting method isn't sufficient for hillclimbs in my area.

So think carefully about what you want to do with your car before buying a roll bar. I get to rework my DAS bar or maybe even toss it and start from scratch to conform to the rules. (issues with 2-piece bars that won't apply to this GMG bar)

Cheers,

My father races dirt track cars....I've seen many....many accidents since little..

If you decide to put your 100k car on the track, spend the money to have a proper bar put in it

If you track your car....get over the fact of a few floor welds and get a clubsport....it's the same bar they used at nurburgring. If you ever need a front cage....it is built to take the addition

I have the gmg wc bar.

I have 1500 miles on the car, no creaking no noise. No new holes or weld plates, bolt in system. Fit and finish is great.

I would not hesitate to recommend them and their bar.

Good luck

If you are buying a bar for no creaking and nice looks.....buy bolt in

If you are buying a bar for crush protection in case of roll over you need to attach to the tub

Did some checking. Actually the OEM Clubsport is about the same price as the GMG RSR bar. I live near Wright Motorsports (anyone heard of them?) and need to see if they could do the install on the OEM since welding and cutting are beyond my ability. OEM is available through Carnewal and FVD- looks a tad cheaper at FVD and they have the plates too for about 100 bucks.

Also, regarding the GMG RSR bar, can anyone explain to me why the driver side shoulder belts are mounted to the bar with eye bolts? Wouldn't it be better to properly wrap the belt around the bar?

scott, i had them put eye bolts on both passenger and driver so i can clip the belts in and out in between track days. I drive my car on the street regularly

What about the sub belt? You kind of just have to keep that in the middle of the seat- no?

seem better to wrap the belts than to use eyebolts on roll bar. seems to be a stress riser. i am guessing here??
