Cool Todd Zuccone, EVOMSit, Gumpert Apollo & 1000+hp 997TT @ SharkWerks Friday/Sat

Hey folks,
As part of Evolution Motorsports' west-coast tour, Todd Zuccone has been in Northern California and at SharkWerks all week-long. If you haven't yet visited our new shop and wanted to say hi please feel free to drop by this Friday or Saturday morning. Todd/we will be working on a few projects this week but if you're interested in the EVOMSit software, Todd will be answering/showing/demonstrate his skills For those of you that do end up getting software whilst he's here I'm sure we might be able to twist his arm a bit

He's also brought a couple of toys with him in his trailer: the orange Gumpert Apollo and the EVOMS 1200HP 997 Twin Turbo. The cars will be here all week if you want to check them out

The beast...

Friday morning, the trailer will be back at our shop.

Also for this Saturday in the AM we're meeting up with some of the local crew thanks to Fred, ZKermit, and PetMako will all be meeting up at 10am at Shark Werks.

We will leave no later then 10:30 to go checkout the NorCal/SoCal event taking place at the W Hotel

Here is the info to that event.
NorCal vs SoCal CARnival 2010 | Facebook

Should be a great turnout as they are expecting hundreds of cars along with the arrival of the Targa Trophy.

So if you want to come by let us know!

I seem to recall Top Gear drove it and it's very near the top of their ladder. You'd really have to love driving it.

I love the name "Gumpert". As beautiful as the name they gave their electric contraption on Top Gear

What's the route of the car tour between W-SF and W-SJ?
Is there an ETA for SJ?

the route is not published since I think its a competitive time/distance rally ...

I believe it starts at the W silicon valley and ends at the W in S.F ... not sure what the timings are ...

Guys the Gumpert is for real. It looks like nothing else... and yes maybe best at night:P But the suspension geometry... wow... it's planted/sticks. And as for the grunt? 3rd gear is bloody fast. Very. I can totally see/believe why it held the Ring lap record.

That's all I'm saying since my free wireless is up at San Quentin for the day

looks like the event starts and finishes @ the W in S.F so I guess it will loop thru the W Silicon Valley.

the www.targatrophy.com says very little of use ... but I think the start will be around noon Saturday @ the W ...

I'm confused ... I may still pop down to Alex's place tomorrow

For sure... we'll just meet here 4526 Enterprise Street, Fremont CA 94538 at 9:30-10 (instead of Santana Row).

Have to say the Gumpert blew me away, too. It's definitely a track-sized car, but it worked surprisingly well on the loop...

Like the CGT, it felt too low and too big and too intimidating to use on small backroads initially. After about 50-60 miles, it became pretty approachable (if still intimidating). Nearing 100 miles, assimilation was nearly complete and my respect for the car went up. Way up.

Only thing I didn't like was the crude, binary traction control. You can dial it back, but I eventually turned if off and just drove the car —Streksomething I never do with PSM on back roads. Nothing like knowing it's down to just you as tall redwoods whiz by to focus you attention to matters at hand...

Me too. Bigger Exige, way more power and looks like a spaceship is coming at you from behind. And on the traction control system with it being a racelogic set up I know it's use/design is for wet race tracks. Turning it off is fun tho
