I'm sure that Gumpert is all go, but it's too much "bag over the head" for me, thanks ... now this 911 retro thing (since you've left off the name, I won't spoil the surprise) ... this thing is great. I've seen it once up close this year near Pebble Beach when they "unveiled" it ... sounds just right and the 9m based engine is pure 911 **** to the eyes and ears. Well worth the pilgrimage to Sharkwerks to see it in detail ... you guys should get her skirts up on a hoist so we can see the underside ... please ... : )

If I had the money, the retro would be in the garage. I just hope someone I know gets one.

Have to say the Gumpert blew me away, too. It's definitely a track-sized car, but it worked surprisingly well on the loop...
Like the CGT, it felt too low and too big and too intimidating to use on small backroads initially. After about 50-60 miles, it became pretty approachable (if still intimidating). Nearing 100 miles, assimilation was nearly complete and my respect for the car went up. Way up.
Only thing I didn't like was the crude, binary traction control. You can dial it back, but I eventually turned if off and just drove the car —Streksomething I never do with PSM on back roads. Nothing like knowing it's down to just you as tall redwoods whiz by to focus you attention to matters at hand...

By the way, my sheriff friend said to let him know the next time my pals come up with a car big enough for him to fit in, he was really wishing he could fit in Gumpy!! I think we could have kept Alex and Todd out of the cuffs if we could have fit him in a car!
