Default Do the 997 GT3's have spacers from the factory?

If so, how big are they?

For those that run track wheels, are you using the spacer or do you have your track wheel offsets setup to run without the spacer.

I'm new to 997 land, let alone GT3 land so excuse all the newb questions.

I can tell you all you want to know about a 996 though

I have an '07 gt3. There are rear spacers. Not sure of the size I run my track wheels with them. Remember, the spacer is between the hub and the rotor. I doubt people remove the spacer, but then again, I guess there's a reason for everything.

Gotcha. This car is new to me so I'm trying to figure all this stuff out. I wonder why Porsche just didn't equip it with the appropriate offset instead?

^^ That's what I'm thinking.. I can't see why Porsche would equip any vehicle with spacers from the factory.

Kush, are you sure its not a hubacentric ring?

Porsche does this for ages.
Usually they do it when sometimes they change track width at the last moment or when they use wheels already stocked for other P cars to match the offset they want.
I can remember 993GT2, 993C2S, 996GT3 Mk1, 997 GT3 etc etc.

it is 5mm spacers on both GT3 n the RS

my track wheels ( OZ Algeritta ) can do away with the spacers. In fact for street now, i hv already removed the spacers coz my BBS-CHR wheels hv a more aggressive offset than stock ones...it is +56 on 11J, fits perfect.

I was actually looking at the OZ's. I had them as track wheels on my 996. Great value for the money and they look the business.

What offsets did you get for the OZ's and how do they fit? I'm assuming they are 18's. You don't have to remove the spacer to fit the OZ's do you? I'd prefer not to as I'll be switching between the OEM and track wheels. Not to mention I don't want to swap lug bolts either.

all 997 GT3's came from the factory with spacers on the rear wheel. Why ? I dont know, but one story is that the Japanese market requires that wheels do no protrude to or beyond fender...thus no spacer for Japan market cars ...again dont know if this is true or not. I believe the standard factory spacer is 5mm.

Admittedly I have not had the wheels off, but I just looked and could not see any spacers. Fairly certain it does not.

Wow, I'm very surprised that they do that. Something about spacers just seems "sketchy" to me.

On Carreras you can get 5mm spacers as an option.
