Simple, GULF owns the rights to that Shade of Blue and will not allow Porsche to use it.

Now that can't stop them from having someone match Gulf Blue and painting their car that color.

I would love to see a 997.2 GT3RS painted in Gulf blue with the Orange/Red highlighting the rest of the car in the Lip Stick, GT3RS Decals on the side and the wheels. That would be B I T C H I N '!

Do a search.

Edgy (Dan) ended up with Blue Turquoise on his 997S Cab because Porsche wouldn't do Gulf Blue. Apparently there is a list of colors that won't work with all the materials on a modern Porsche (polyurethane etc.).
