Default 2011 Universal Audio Adapter

can't find it....was told in the center console under the lid. No luck! My RS is a 2011 and I thought it is standard along with the Bluetooth.

Anyone else?

I believe that is a no cost option but still an option and needs to be on the order sheet. At least thats what I was told by the dealer rep.

I ordered it on my 2011 GT3, I haven't seen the car so I'm not sure if it came with. My car landed at the dealership this week so hopefully I will see this coming weekend.

Porschemeister,
you are not alone...I paid the '11 up-charge, and only got the floor mats!!!

makes absolutely no sense...I ordered a 2010 with exactly those options and was moved in a 2011. My dealer told me they are standard now and included.

Paid more got less...

Does not sit well with me, I assume the dealer could retrofit?

i think that's the case with EARLY 2011's.
i have a very late 2010. in fact some 2011 were delivered before my 2010. those early 2011 maybe really be 2010 per se, just with random VIN cut off.

I have a 2011. When I got the car, I tried to hook up my iPhone to the Bluetooth. It didn't work. When we looked at the paperwork I did not order the Bluetooth. A couple of days later the dealer called me back and said the 2011 comes standard with the Bluetooth and that the porsche regional representative said bring it into the dealer and they will retrofit or install the kit at no cost.

Looks like it got overlooked at the factory. Mine was a late may first week of June build. Maybe yours is in the same lot or build?????

Jochen, I made sure the options were on my order sheet. They aren't standard, just no-cost options for 2011. everything was there when I picked it up and it was built before yours. all it is on cars without PCM is a simple audio in jack. sounds like its time to hit the dealer upside their heads and have them fix it for you since they dropped the ball.

That explains the difference between "standard equipment" and "no cost option"... very sneaky!

w/o PCM it is a simple audio jack in the ctr console compartment on the "front" side of the compartment ... dont know about cars w PCM.

wrt Bluetooth, my T-Mobile G1 paired easily with my car, address book does not seem to work with non/PCM cars

I presume people are looking for the 3.5mm audio jack in the armrest console, right?
It's not conspicuous.

The audio jack kind of sucks as it obviously won't charge the iPod nor allow tuning through the PCM. If one wants a truely functional iPod then -unfortunately- Nav is a must.

Dealer installed the aux in, which works fine. I actually like to use the iPhone to select Playlists etc.

No Bluetooth yet....dealer tells me no retrofit kit available as of now??

Did you get it retrofitted to your car?

Thanks,

Porschemeister

It is supposed to be standard along with Bluetooth. If you don't have PCM, you only get an audio jack. Hence why it was only a $95 option. If you don't have it, take a look at you VIN and make sure it really is an 11 and not a 10.
