It is a SharkWerks 3.9. I wonder if the F430 is stock?

That's the surprising thing. At first, I thought it was a Scuderia (stripes) but it's clearly a 430 (exhaust pipes and engine bay) so I'm surprised to see it stay in touch with the Froggie 3.9 ... maybe a rolling start to negate the F1 box and launch control would be a better comparison?

But a stock 430 makes 490hps already.. w/ the exhaust.. Probably some more.. So I'm sure it makes similar horsepower as the 3.9...
One would expect them to be close, no?!

If it is a bet, I would put my money on the Sharky 3.9 GT3 RS. The car is rated at 500Hp, with whp in the 450whp range, Kermit is lightened, close to 150 lbs lighter than a stock 997.1 GT3 RS (around 3,000 lbs with no fuel).
The F430 in the video is a standard F430 with the EvoMSit tune, less power to the wheels than Kermit. It is also a heavier car (over 3,200 lbs with no fuel).
Power to the wheels is what matters. A standard F430 is rated at 483Hp, and puts down just 400-410whp. The 2010 GT3 is rated at 435Hp, and puts down near 400 whp.
The GT3 launches extremely well, actually all RWD 911s do. The F430 doesn't launch well, as it doesn't have launch control in the U.S. version, it launches bad actually.
If it is a car to choose (rather than a bet), I would still take Kermit.

Right. Just looking at the frog compared to a stock 997.2 RS, the lean mean grean machean (sorry) punches above its weight. Give or take the hole shot, I think the frog deserves a shorter diff. I think Alex was keeping the stock ratios to be clear that the performance of the car is entirely the 3.9.
NJ and Carrera I agree with your remarks about weight and gear ratios.
My Rs tuning 3.6 6GT3 with short R&P pulls from standrard 430 as this Green car from standing and from rolling 2nds. *both with launch and without
My friends 7GT3 with exhaust has no chance vs the 430.
However I am little surprized given the specs of the 3.9 litres conversion so maybe it was a bad launch.

Sharkey posted elsewhere that the 430 was modded to 520 HP; this would explain closer than expected result with 500 HP 3.9.
