Default Gray RS owners- paint care easy?

I'm considering gray with gold accents. Is the gray easy to take care of? Like a silver or gray, or more like a black? I don't want the work of a black car. The other combo I am considering is white gold.

i'm getting the white with gold. i had a carbon black M3 with the competition package as my last car and the wheels alone took 30 min to clean. the car was relatively small and the porsche seems like a smaller car. drying the car was done using an electric leaf blower(yes my neighbors thought i was insane). i live in tampa and water spots are a hassle to deal with when a quick 15 min shower runs through the parking lot. all that hard work washing the car and now i have water spots!!! pollen was also a hassel and not to mention swirl marks from washing too much. i was very careful to use a 2 bucket wash system with a boars hair brush. i spent about 2 grand on a polisher, polishes, clay bars, towels, shampoo, brushes, buckets, wax, cleaners, wheel wax, tire dressing, etc. all that being said, a clean black car is stunning!!! all my cars will be white from here on out!

I agree on the black, but this thing is gray. Shouldn't that be easier?

the gray is much darker than silver.
it's not as easy as white to care for long term b/c it will show swirl more.
however in short term, gray is easier than white. you take a white RS out for 10 miles, the entire lower 1/3 of the car will be covered with black dust, which you will not see on gray or silver.

so...

I looked at a Gray/Red car today at Beverly Hills porsche.... the color looks KILLER in person. The car didn't have the graphics/decals on either.

The car did have yellow stitching inside.... not a fan at all !

I was leaning towards white or blue....but the gray in person is VERY cool...almost military looking !

Cheers

gt silver would prob be the best and meteor gray is the darkest i'll go. meteor grey looks awsome in all light and even better at night with the alloy wheels. anyone have any picks of how gt silver looks in day and night?

The non-metallic grey/black on the RS is relatively easy to maintain. Real question you want to ask is how much sun your car will see. White is virtually impervious to sun damage while darker colors aren't very fond of excessive exposure.

No excessive sun exposure planned. It won't be a DD.

Although I liked the the Gray and seriously considered it, you have to keep in mind that it is likely to become just a fad color that will be yesterdays news in the near future.

Apologies to anyone with a Gray car.....

Get the white with Gold, the stone will fly off the bonnet!!

good luck with your choice. it was tough for me. whatever you pick, you will surely enjoy the car thoroughly when you get it. Its hard not to drive it. actually i'm taking mine out right now.

I originally wanted White/Red but went with Grey/Red to appease the wife. Couldn't be happier with my choice (car and wife). My plan is to add the carbon mirrors and hood from the upcoming GT2 RS when they become available. Should be a nice complement to the CF wing. I can always get a set of charcoal wheels and pull the decals for the total stealth look.

good point. white will probably show road debris damage more that black or grey. are the '11 rs's pts available? maybe a gt silver would be the ideal color.
