GT3 RS and Clear Bra
My RS just arrived at dealership. Did any of you guys have the clear bra installed? I'm keeping the decals - do they just adapt clear bra around decals? Any pictures of clear bra on new RS? How resistant to heat is the clear bra - because the GT3 and RS give off a lot of heat in the front from what I've heard.

Right over the decals no problem. Mine created a very thin, silver looking outline around the decal, which looks pretty cool. You don't see it unless you look close but it gives an extra little pop.

Mine doesn't go anywhere near the roof. It goes up about half way up the front hood. It covers the front skirt, as well. They do a nice job of installation...and for no charge, either. Nothing to lose, I suppose.
Maybe the poster who mentions the extended coverage is referring to the full vehicle wrap some people opt for?

If you track your car you at least want the leading edge of the roof done, assuming you don't plan to go naked. The leading edge of the roof takes a beating from flying debris and rubber. Once you start talking about the leading edge it's an extra piece of film for the installers so covering the rest adds virtually nothing to cost, plus it eliminates the seam running across the roof when only doing the leading edge.

The other benefit of doing the full front is the elimination of the line half way up the hood that drives some folks crazy. With the full front done, you won't ever notice it is there. If you plan to track the car, I would also recommend the rocker panels, or at least the wheel arches. That area takes a lot of abuse.
If you need help finding a good installer, let me know.

i have purchased two RS examples on used market. both had partial clear bras from new. Both have over 15k miles.
The bra holds up very well and was a welcome sight during my purchase!
If you are ****, do the full car. Keeps that original paint all the more original in time.
I have enjoyed the following areas of my two examples bra'd:
full front bumper
front fenders (i prefer full vs. half to avoid "line")
hood (i prefer full vs. half to avoid "line")
rockers below decals
door edge guards (really love it!)
gas door edge guard (really love it!)
front fender lips
rear fender lips
rear fender shields
As to the decal graphics, you can clear bra over them no problem and is nice for waxing, but once you remove bra (when super old in time) the decals come off with it which sucks, (i was kinda sad about it) Therefore, sooner or later a lot of RSs' out there will lose their factory installed stripes......
i recommend buying second set of decals to have in storage and bra full car if budget can afford it or if you plan on keeping it........
if not, for piece of mind bra the important parts but try to avoid the graphics as resale owners get a little sad about it when partial graphics are bra'd.
