That's beautiful. This car is still on autotrader. Highly modded but the DME that's posted looks pretty good for a turbo. The car in Fort Lauderdale has the sport adaptive seats

Its occurred to me that there is not so much of a "997 GT2 Market". There are less available for purchase right now than either Carrera GT's or 918's.
Four.
Four.

I had an interesting conversation at a cars and coffee (last one before COVID shut everything down) with an old buddy of mine longtime Porsche owner. There was a beautiful silver CGT I was admiring. He asked me if I would ever trade in my GT2 for a CGT. I said something snarky along the lines of “if it were a trade, I would probably do it”. He replied to me “Marc, if you do that, I would probably kill you!” I thought he was joking but then he explained:
1. The GT2 is infinitely more usable and drivable than the CGT
2. The GT2 is rarer than the CGT
3. The GT2 is much more serviceable and parts are much more available and reasonable than the CGT. (Apparently, CGT parts from Porsche Classic Dept. are going up 12% a year or so im told)
He said full seriousness, eyes wide: “if you ever traded your GT2 in for ANY car, what the heck would you get to replace it? What would ever match everything that it is? I will cry if you ever sell that car! There is NOTHING that beats the 997 GT2 (and RS basically same car), it was and still is the pinnacle.”
So, perhaps it is no wonder that there are only 4 for sale in the whole country, all dealer listings.
Cheers

I'm taking the CGT every single time, it's one of my true dream cars. It's an experience altogether different than any 911 (I'm lucky enough to have ridden in one), and I actually prefer my cars with naturally aspirated engines overall. The CGT is truly something very special and an experience altogether different from 911s. It's my favorite Porsche of them all, just priced beyond my means.

I have a close friend that owns a CGT. I've been in it many times, driven it,... seen it in the shop many times for many months waiting to get parts, and the $$$$ INVOICES.
To me, it sorta like considering a Boat. What is better than owning a boat? .... Having a good friend that owns the boat.
That being said,... If someone were to offer me a straight up trade ::: GT2 for CGT, I would do it in a heartbeat,.... and then immediately turn around, sell it,... and then buy a GT2 back,... and then added another fun car.

Hmmmm....with the high mileage, but well maintained 2011 GT2 RS selling for $262,500 on PCAR, what does that mean for the 2008 GT2 on BaT? Looking back, historically, the pricing delta was maybe 2X pricing difference? Did that ever make sense, or was that aspirational dealer mark-ups? Is that compressing or is the BaT car a $136k car?

^^^SUCH different mileages, idk if they are relevant comparable examples. If they both were 3x,xxx mile cars, then fine. They aren’t. While I don’t subscribe to the low-mile premium, the market does.
i’m jealous of the buyer of the 2rs. That’s a great pickup imo, assuming it is in good cosmetic and mechanical condition, 38kmi doesn’t mean anything other than a good discount for the buyer’s entry point to a 997-2rs. I’ve seen super-low mile examples that had been badly tuned, abused and somewhere down the line straightened back out to “acceptable examples” after being borderline undeliverable (a good friend of mine and I test drove a yellow one in Houston years ago that I though was going to kill us!). I’ve seen much higher mileage that were impeccably maintained and like-new condition. But mileage matters in price. The art is finding the higher mile examples that have been treated right, imo.
