You would think that with the marketing reach and financing options available at a major well-regarded Porsche dealer, this would have moved some time ago given they are asking essentially the same gross price as it was bid up to on BaT last year.

More success at auctions than dealers means the GT2 is a true collectable car.

Price-wise its an amazing bargain for what it is.

BaT charges a lower buyer's premium, so their hammer prices trend higher. Total cost to buyer (see total column) trends pretty closely the past year.

The thing that gets me is how can a 12 year old car have only 8,000 miles? I would rather have one that has been regularly warmed up and driven a bit over that period. Same thing is happening in the Carrera GT market now. Nobody wants the super low mile cars sitting on the market. Better to have one with "reasonable" miles given its age. Cars that sit tend to deteriorate faster.

I bought a new GT2 in 2008, and around the time of this first post I sold it with 6k track miles for $125k.
it was a dumb thing to do, but we were in a recession, and I turned around and bought a super low mileage 11GT2RS for $220k and then A super low mileage ‘09GT2 for $155k. I have posted this before for those that know me.

Prices go up and go down. But the GT2 are my favorite cars and will only sell when dead or to pay for my Adult living care center if I make it that far.

A nice clean ‘08 GT2 should bring in $175k to $185k these days which is still below the $205k+/- MSRP when new.

find a nice one, buy and keep.

If I had the means at the time of purchase, I would have paid up a bit (maybe $8-$10k) for a 2009 model assuming that the revised PCM was still there. My own 2008 GT2 had its PCM removed by a previous owner and has an aftermarket stereo.

I think you would have had to pay up a lot more for an ‘09? They are the last of the non-RS GT2s (still to this day) and the lowest number produced.

I do not disagree, just saying I would have paid that kind of premium, comparing like for like 2008 versus 2009 GT2s. As an actual GT2 owner who bought in the last year it's just my own thought. All that being said, I was struggling with the budget to buy my own car at the time of purchase so I'm likely not representative of the normal GT2 market.

If I were currently in the market, I'd be looking to buy that one. Very impressive price for a 2009 GT2, and in my favorite color too. Still lacks carbon buckets, as mine did as well when I bought it...but the price is right.
