Default How fast is the PDK?

We were out driving around on a closed track in Maylasia out toward death valley with my C2S PDK and a modified 996 TT (500hp flashed ECU), we got on
the deserted road and the TT Owner was driving my car, and the TT was driven by a 911 am racer. The PDK had ME in the passenger seat, which penalizes the PDK by a WAY unfair 200 lbs. We lined em up and had a go.
From 5-90 the PDK pulled a one car length lead on the TT, from 90-120 the TT got half of that back.

I was flabbergasted that the PDK was that quick. I knew it was fast, but I had no idea it was that quick. When I test drove the PDK last year, I knew that was some upgrade over the 997.1 but I thought since its been months since I drove a 911 that maybe I was just FEELING fast, not going fast. But today we proved that the car is pretty damn quick. Should make one helluva track car!!

I kinda raised an eyebrow when I saw one mag hit 3.8 on 0-60 with this car, but I dont now.

Sounds good. Might post it in the 996 Turbo forum as well.

W.R. had the same ring lap time in a TT with PDK in auto as a 6 speed. He would have been faster with PDK in manual mode.

Now that I think about what happened is th e PDK pulled the TT on the first couple of shifts.
then when all that was done the TT had a bit longer gear in 4th or 5th.

Probably wont post that in the 996 TT forum. I like to shy away from controversy.
The reason I posted it here is my GT3 friends are the REAL drivers around here.
The 997 forums seems to be populated by the less fortunate on the IQ scale.

OG - I know what you mean. One of those 'less fortunates' even posted that a PDK equiped 956 won Lemans in 1983. It is amazing how very delusional and hokey their stories can be.

Clifton you are a good example. Guys who are smarter than the UK press, Porsche engineers and Chris Harris who said the same thing in a Drivers Republic PDK video. I keep forgetting you are THE Porsche spokesman.

You know what really shows your ignorance is your'e missing the whole point. PDK was developed as a racing
tranny. It was developed for that. That blows your original hokey point out of the water (Can you remember your original point?) Your original hokey point was PDK doesnt belong in the GT3. Its Coming Mr Porsche historian.
What are you 12? NO matter what LeMans it was or what car it was the point was PDK was developed FOR
racing. Youre still wrong no matter what the details are.

Next time instead of quoting the press, Porsche engineers, and Chris Harris I will just PM you.

What a DB

Yes, we are all enlightened by the above "Kill Story" and experiencing a taste of the "fast and furious" lifestyle, where life is lived a 1/4 mile at a time - in a PDK. LOL!

What is more interesting is to find such a post in a GT3 forum and not the 996 TT forum. Even more interesting would be seeing the post below started as a topic in the 997 forum. I'd love to hear what makes one more fortunate on the IQ scale.

Really, you are that offended and taking the PDK thing personal that you want to call names?? Oh borother.....

The irony of your idiot definition is that your post here on the GT3 forum was cocevived in conflict on the 997 forum. Click here for Irony

Now that is funny!!

Like I mentioned before, you can't trust what you read on the internet. Your sources are wrong and quoting them, makes you wrong (I'm embarrased for you).

I believe there was a problem with that 996TT...

I raced against a Tiptronic 996TT (also chipped) and he got 3-4 car lengths on me; we tried at least 3 times and the result was the same

I was in auto mode with Sport Plus engaged. Even though I very much love my PDK C4S (385HP), I do not see it holding against a 500HP car

Less fortunate on the IQ scale? Why not "man up" and say it to our faces in the 997 forum?
