Default Centerlock Wheel Locking via Chock Block?

So what is the thought? Is this the solution for one person centerlock removal? (no need for 2nd person to hold brake)

Porsche says just the parking brake, chock the diagonal and engage 1st gear (though I'd rather not use the engine as a wheel block. That chock looks good, but it's another thing to carry and another $200 or whatever.

I think a better solution is a multiplier so the torque reaction goes straight to the ground.

Just lift the car from a rear corner and that will put enough load on the opposite front tire, so it doesn't rotate with the torque wrench.

Seriously, what a pain is CL, totally unnecessary, what was Porsche thinking?

Looks interesting, but this would mean even more to stuff in my car (I don't trailer yet). And at $578, I can pay the random kid in the paddock to stand on my brake pedal many many times.

I keep thinking about a multiplier too. That would be the easy/elegant solution. Have you gone this route Adam? If so which one? I bought the three piece tq wrench.

THAT is a simple and cheap idea too! Thanks for that! I agree on PITA. Not sure the bling is worth the hassle.

I hear you. I was more looking for something to use at home to get the wheels (s) off for brake and suspension work. And avoid the "Honey can you please come mash the brake with all your might?" situation.

Complexity/Simplicity/Cost...hmmmmmm I sure love to keep things simple...

I found I could get the wheels off with no one stomping on the brakes. The fronts did rotate a bit, but could still get them off/tightened to spec.

i dont have the car yet. so i may have to eat my words in a month.
but i have seen MANY cup cars, their tightening tq is about same.
they just put a 2x and wedge the wheel, then tq it. nut comes right off.

I'll do a couple of DIY pics asap. If it's as "easy/elegant" as I hope, then I think it's the less "dramatic" way to go and a pretty compact device that means you can remove and replace the wheel anywhere there's access to a conventional tool set. And the Porsche telescopic breaker bar is compact enough to stay in the frunk with the multiplier, the same as the three-piece torque wrench, in case of roadside troubles.

But where are you going to keep the spare tire?
