Talked to the dealer again today and found that even though they don't have the base price yet, it is already in production. The order status shows PRDPNT. Odd that the screen shows the price of all the options, but not the base price. He said they would know on Friday for sure.
The other odd thing was the black wheels I ordered were not on the option list, though he assures me they have been in contact with the factory and they would be on there. I guess we will have to see.
Does anyone know how long the production process usually takes from PRDPNT to complete?

by the time it leaves for paint, it takes less than a week to be completely built- probably 2 or 3 days. the long process is the wait for the cars to be shipped across the atlantic, clear customs, get prepped by the dealer- that takes about 3 weeks in the summer and 4 or 5 weeks in the fall, as volumes are high and less weather problems in the summer

Although I don't think 2011 cars will be delivered to their rightful owners before the summer holiday break in July/August. I could be wrong.

I was informed by the Porsche dealer that my 2011 GT3 will be built in June and most likely be in the dealers hands in mid to late August. That is all the info I have at this time, also the pricing was not finalized.

that means it's getting it's last bits installed and is completed.
after PRDQLT comes CMPPRD...completed production. then comes the boat. ONVESL.
after that it's a few days in customs at the port and gets delivery to you at the dealer. WEEEE!

I say bug the crap out of them. Let them know who is number one, and that is you the customer. You are their bread and butter and if they cannot except that well then they ain't much of a dealership then! And it's not like you bought a base Boxster or V6 Cayanne, cough cough. You bought a GT3 which means you know what you want and you don't mess around.
