Maybe Porsche doesn't think like that.. ha ha!
The car ships with BOTH batteries when LiON is spec'ed.

Correct, but $3000. I ordered the LiON on my Spyder as well, dummy me not thinking to just use one battery and swap out...oh well saves some hassle factor which has a value.

Yeah, that's my point, so the jack up in price when order separately does not make sense. That's what I was trying to say.

For seats, steering wheels, etc. At least you can argue that it is a substitute so you are only paying the additional charge compare to the standard equipments that you were going to get. But not battery since you get both.. !

Spring Mountain is an awesome track if you haven't been.

Also LS May31/June 1 with PCA/Trackmasters and Hooked on Driving. Everybody has said how great LS is so I have to go try it!

Can I run with POC with no problem? If so I should come there in Aug?
POC is great but have strict rules.
PM jrgordon jr on RL. he's on the board of POC and ask him what you must do in order to run with them.

it took a lot of work on my part to get my license to race with them last year. but hell it was fun ;_)

I was quoted $2,300, however there were none in the US, and only one available in Germany at the time (this was a couple weeks ago). Dealer cost is $2,000.

I was under the impression that the cost is $1700 (when spec'd from factory). Hell, if they have
to raise the price it should be in a way not to gouge people....

If the dealer cost is $2,000, then everyone who's ordering a new car should order the option and pay the $1,700 and flip the battery then?! ha! (since it will come w/ both..)

I love the smell of arbitrage in the morning...

It is truly insane! Probably on option only a crazy person would order. The reason behind the craving for such an item is deeply perplexing to me.

Not an option for every person, that is for sure.

spg993tt aka "spagetti turbo" -- I think you now hold the Rennlist "longest delay before a spontaneous outburst" award.

You guys are too funny!

I finally received my Spyder LiON this Monday. Seems manufacturing cannot keep up with demand and Porsche is trying to fill GT3RS LiON orders before any others. Or so I am told.

Have been running the RS LiON with no problems at all. Started fine on a 35 degree morning.

So crazy to pick a battery up with one finger.

I have a jet ski battery in my 933 Turbo ... just don't even try to turn on the radar detector before the engine is running ... it's still lighter than that pig of a lump Li-Ion in the RS ... but I have to admit the glowing aura of geek coolness emanating from the factory Li battery is rocket science "Thunderbirds are Go!" compared to a $100 battery from the local batteriesplus.com ... : )
