I know the plant was working on half days up until March.
Also might have been waiting for other vehicles of similar manufacture to finish your build. Say for instance your car was an "odd man out" and could follow other 911s through general assembley lines, talking about grand ma's base carrera all the way up to grand pa's GT2. Then after most of the guts were put in that are common across the entire line you car sits because it is the only GT3/RS waiting for completion. Thus they might wait for another six or seven of the same model to finish yours since it doesn't make much sense retooling an entire line just to finish one car. Granted Porsche's manufacturing capabilities are much more modular than 99% of the industry. Which in turn gives them the ability to move quickly and to be dynamic and extremely flexible in assembling motor vehicles.
By that same token, they might have been waiting on parts too. Or they might have done something wrong during the build which didn't follow the configuration.
Ultimately no way of telling.

No....my car was purchased from a dealership in Philly. The Austin dealership royally screwed me...took my spec'd allocation and sold it to someone else at a mark up. The Dallas (Park) wanted $20k over. I ended up with a car coming into Philly. If my care was on that boat, I wish that it could stay in Texas and get prepped!

I know the feeling Park Place and BW in Dallas wanted over sticker....I got mine from FW for a little under sticker...
But I had to search around the US and ended up with two 10 and 11 (one out of Baton Rouge.) and let a freind take the 11

BUT, if it was YOUR spec'd car and they sold it from under you. PLEASE by all means, find out the name of your local porsche rep (they control allocation) and email or talk to them, and also speak to the top brass of PCNA (pm me). porsche brass, believe it or not, really DO care. although they cannot legally do anything about that, they can make that particular dealer's life "difficult". this is fraud if a contract is taken out from under you.
