Sport Bucket GT2 seat lap belt mount?
Cross-post.
Anyone (or with photo / knowledge) with roll bar, GT2 Sport Buckets, and Harnesses, please take a look at this post in Racing / DE. Conflicting mounting point for OEM 3-point lap.
Thanks,
Ron

Both the 3-point and harness lap belts should mount to the side of the seat. The outer mount on the floor is used just to mount the roll bar. Keep in mind that only 1 of the 2 examples is using the correct OEM Schroth Prolifi II harnesses (in red). You will also need sub bars for the sub straps. There are 2 options: modify Euro GT3 sub bars or get the Brey Krause sub bars. I chose to got with Brey Krause mounts, that come with a relocation bracket for the passenger seat sensor. With the Euro GT3 bars, they have to be modified (cut) and there is an issue with the seat sensor. My tech said it was easier using the Brey Krause mounts.

Thanks for the info, my install is already done using BK mounts and Hans belts w/ 2" laps. What concerned me is my oem 3-point was anchored to where the roll bar mounts and I've seen it both ways (where both belts are bolted to the GT2 frame AND where the 3-point is mounted "behind"). I'd like both to the seat frame and wonder why I've seen it both ways.

I have the OEM GT3 Schroth belts mounted to the seat rails like photos 1 and 2 with the 3 point also mounted to the rail and threaded through the seat opening. I think there are many who feel mounting the lap belts to a site other than the seat rail (directly to the pan or B pillar) provides a more secure set up in the event of an incident.

Original lap was to the point where the roll bar is attached. OEM GT2 seat mounting point is not there, it's to the steel frame of the GT2 seat / rail. I've now seen this all done 3 ways:
Both attached to GT2 rail.
6-point lap attached to GT2 rail and 3-point to roll bar point, not threaded through lap slot.
Same as above, but threaded through.

- to the OEM point in the door sill
- to the OEM point on the side rail of the bucket seat
I dont think threading or not through the slot for the OEM 3pt "matters" and is a matter of choice, but it should never be routed through the shoulder harness
holes.
The reason I state this is that these are both point at which the factory
delivers the OEM belts mounted.
I personally mounted the OEM belt to the mount point on the door sill and my
lap belt to the mount point on the seat.

Was at my dealer today for the oil / filter change special and had them look things over. Master tech for 14 years looked things over and we discussed the options.
We tried putting both laps on the GT2 seat frame position, but they pinched, which is not good. Each needs to be able to pivot freely.
The best solution was:
6-point lap belt to the anchor point on the GT2 seat frame.
3-point OEM belt through the slot and back to the roll bar mount, which was the original mounting spot for the Sport Seats.
Works like a charm...
So, best of both worlds.
