on hoosiers, not having to lift for sound: 1:35

a rennlister did 1:36:6 with stock 996 on khumos

i did 1:41:000 with R888 on stock 6gt3
i did 1:39:2xx with R888 on stock 7RS having to lift. i think i can to 1:38 with R888 if i dont have to lift for sound...

if it's YOUR RS that i can wreck for free, i am certain i can do 1:35 with hoosiers.

awesome info... I hope to get my times down to 1:40 with my 997S, next time i come back with RA1's.... my gearing is different so I have to upshift and downshift more than the GT3's.. but I'm up for the challenge!

Mainly because we are lazy Australia shortens to 'Aus' shortens to 'Oz'.... less to write

I hear you... It'll give me some time to get to a level whereby you won't want to just throw me out of the car...

I'll supply food, accommodation and Valium (if my driving sux) and you supply the instruction and skill. The door is always open...

Hey mobonic (I don't attempt to spell you first name )

My best time with mooty yelling was 1:44. My failing brakes prevent any decent faster attempt safely. Best to drive with in safety window given the circumstance than to call AAA to tow my car 200 miles back to Rocklin

I am glad I had the right brake fluid for your need. I know how hard it is to find the right racing stuff for your car on a pinch especially when you are out of town. I guess your brake worked OK after bleeding. Thanks for the Renntrack T-shirt. They will be worn for my future DIY projects

lol

I will make sure to bring a bag of Ricola to sooth your larynx

Your fan base just grew larger mooty. I think brining your trailer next time will be a great idea. I will be able to use your tools to fashion all sorts of gadgets to pass sound at Laguna

Biggest bang-for-the-buck you can make performance wise. 997 S's have a EOM LSD....

So was his gearing stock for a 997S?. It appears significantly lower then the GT3's. Gear charts show both cars with the same R & P, although the 997 has slightly shorter gear sets....

damn, why does PAG do that? if anything GT3 needs shorter gears as 997 has more TQ and wider power band i believe.

Yeah - I only get into 4th on the main straight and 2nd coming into 11 on PS2s. Otherwise, 3rd gear the whole time. But I'm slow - 1:46. On grippier tires, I'll need 4th gear going into turn 5.

Just do the cup R & P and all your troubles will disappear unless you try T5 in 4th gear like Serge944 .
If you do, make sure to take out the microphone on your way thru the kitty litter....
