Default curious question

on pre 996 cars, many ppl would turn the tach or speedo sideways, can this be done with 996 and 997?

not positive, but I do not think so... it is all integrated on 996 and later and not individual gauges...

that's the ACTUAL reason why the older 911's have tach turned. usually it's turned such that 12 o'clock is when you upshift.

Gauges on the air-cooled cars were held in by friction; they can easily be pulled out and/or turned.

Get a Scud. No need to turn the tach, redline (8500) is at 12:00 o'clock. 7 secs faster than a 997 GT3 around VIR despite the skinny tires.

I wonder how the 997.2 GT3 RS will stack up against the Scud time at VIR...

I was drag racing a cgt in my gmc. Since he's faster I just encroach into his lane. Scared him.

On the 6GT3, they are fixed. Don't know about 7GT3, sure it's the same.
