Default Have you used AC Hydraulics jacks???

Has anyone used an AC Hydraulics DK13HLQ Jack? Do they get in under a GT3 easily enough and are there any flat topped jack stands available that you are aware of? Preferably with rubber tops to minimise damage to the paint on the jack points...

You don't need the HLQ but it will work. I have the DK20 and it works great. AC makes great jackstands also. Search this forum - AC jacks were discussed at length a few months ago.

DQ 13 works well.
i also have DQ20, my car is lower than most, so DQ 20 can't reach the engine case once i have the front of car on stands, i usually have 2x10 under rear tires so then it's ok.

Yes - that is a good point. I still prefer the shorter jack because of maneuverability in the garage but that reach is a problem if you don't have the back end up some on 2x10s

yes, the long jack is very hard to move around as my garage is tight.

if you aren't so lazy, you can jack up the rear sides, put two 2x10 under each rear tires, then the short jack can get to the case no prob.

i have two of each... spares you know.

Thanks for the responses fellas. I have been debating between the two mentioned jacks myself and agree the DQ13 may be a bit of a nuisance around the garage but the added reach to the case lift point will be great. Will make some enquiries on the two.

Saw these jack stands on the net and they look great! Just need to find who makes them. I think the rubber tops would be so match better than the typical curved steel cradles most seem to have...

Those look an awful lot like my AC jack stands - same pad as the jack also.

Apparently they are a modified AC stand, i.e. they are altering the tops of them somehow. Going to try a couple of suppliers today to see if I have any luck. I'm assuming that 1500kg stands would be sufficient for my needs, yeh???

Has anyone come up with a shorter jack stand? There seems to be a standard height (IIRC around 11") but this is too tall unless you remove the center part, and then you need to add a hockey puck.

^^^ I was told they are the AC hydraulic brand & are available in 2 sizes. 290mm and 390mm (minimum height). What do we think guys, will the 290mm height be okay?

This might be a source for the AC jackstand with pads. They currently show out of stock. I'd be interested if others know of a lower priced source or one with stock on hand.

So here's a source for both jacks and stands that claims to have stock. Not cheap.
