The second iteration looks spectacular.

I agree.

In a perfect world, I would like the car to be factory stock.

In other words, if possible, PTS, black wheels and decals and body accents in either PTS or black.

If they are only doing PTS, I will ask for silver wheels (this are a NCO) and non decal car.

I know the dealers can supply and fit 997 RS decals in black. So, I could always have those fitted as I am not a fan of the 997.2 decal set.

Thanks Jumper. From that thread, I'd say the 997 C4S in Mexico was the closest to what I was hoping for: -

I'd like the colour to be bright but deep.

For me Maritime can look a little dull (great in sunshine but living in the UK, I forget what that is! )

Rivera can look a little 'washed out' but other times just perfect.

However, Mexico seems to work quite well.

I'm still undecided but those photos do help.

do you think porsche can make a matte finish? check out this m3. color is frozen grey which is matte clear coat over their standard spacegrau color. this is a factory bmw individual color that is supposed to be an optional choice on all M cars for 2011 model year. i think this would look great with black, red, or orange accents on an RS…minus the fish lips..that would have to be in black.

(Basislack: Spacegrau met. A52 / matter 2K-Klarlack FF95-0550
+ Haerter SC29-0160, MV100:33 Gew., BASF)
I've seen the Matt Spece Grey and it looked good. I've also seen the concept E46 CSL, which was in a liquid metal colour (can't remember the exact name) - again an excellent colour.

Again, it is personal choice, but for me an RS should be in a 'safety colour', as Porsche descibed the Orange and Green of the 997.

I also would like to hark back to the heritage of the '73 RS... both those aspects are my reference and influence.

my pick would be Mex+blk
Larry,

Interesting to compare all three from the dealers, back to back...

Here is Monterey's, which I believe is Riviera

And the one in L.A., which I believe is Mexico...

And lastly, the San Diego car, which is Maritime...

Here in the UK we were told that the graphics and accent colour would also be available in any colour you wanted to compliment the PTS. No idea if this is the same for PNA though.

If I keep my RS I will order it in Riviera or Mexico with black wheels, accents and graphics. If I buy the car to flip it then it will be white with red (cheaper) or white with black or white with blue.

Does anyone know the specific colours of the 2.7RS' posted above? The avocado green one and the blood orange one?

Hi YearOne, the '74 Carrera above is in a colour called Lime Green - a '74-'75 only colour - (at least that is what it was called at the place where I sourced the photos from).

The photo shoot was from one of the Porsche mags awhile back - I will try to source the link for you.

I'm also in the UK and am waiting for confirmation of the decal and body accent colour options. I did find some info online which detailed what a UK dealer had quoted a potential customer regarding the factory cost to change the items (at build). Again, I will try to dig that out and post it for you.

Here is a link to John Glynn's review of the 1974 Lime Green Carrera (more photos at the link)...

http://www.johndglynn.com/citrus-car...world-magazine

The feature was in 911 & Porsche World magazine - no doubt you can buy back issues from the publisher.

Awhile back, I also found the link to the photographers site, which had some other photos on it. Again, I'll see if I can dig it out.

I love the 964RS in mint green, but I'm not quite sure it will look as nice on a 7.2 RS. That 7.1 RS in Lime Green looks pretty damn good, however.

The Monterey car is Mexico; the L.A car is Riviera. The pictures make it very difficult to tell but I have been to see both the Mexico and Maritime cars.

Thanks for the correction.

Only the Maritime is named on the dealers site.
