Default Auto Racing Video Games/Consoles

Which auto racing video games do you guys play, which console and which steering/foot controls do you prefer? I haven't played any ones that I really liked or the steering wheel feel was terrible. Is there any high end stuff out there that you guys know about?

GTR2 PC
GTR EVO/RACE 07 PC
Forza 3 XBOX360
Race Pro XBOX360
NFS Shift PC & PS3

So far that I have played the most realistic racing sim is a ALMS mod for GTR2.
As for consoles Forza 3 is a great racing game but only 8 can play online, racing sim is not quite there.
Race Pro is from the same guys who made GTR2, with max of 12 players. It is a dummed down version of GTR2. More of a racing sim then Forza 3 but still not all there.
NFS Shift is a great arcade game and looks great but it isn't much of a multiplayer game.

GT5 for PS3 is due out sometime this year. Though I can only speculate that it will have the graphics of NFS Shift but be more of a racing sim like GTR2.

I went sort of the cheap route. I bought a Fanatec wheel and pedals that work for PC, XBOX360 and PS3.
I find it very realistic with the pedals, I don't left foot brake just like in real life and using the shifters is slower then using the paddles and may not be competitive online against people who are not using the shifter but it is fun.

I also placed an order for a motion cockpit (VRX Pro) but haven't received it yet.

Forza 3 is the latest and greatest on my Xbox. I just use the stick controllers these days.

What cars are you running on Forza 3?

I have been racing A series with either an Audi R8 or S5. But, when I am on multiplayer race my car is so much slower than the others. I am usually gapped by the first turn.

Any tips for a noob?

GRID on PS3, probably the best and most realistic driving game I've ever played. Rarely have time to though.

If you're serious in getting the best driving sim, look no further than here:

Expensive, yes

Real racing effect: Priceless!

These are by far the best systems out there for serious track junkies.
