with that said, there is just "something" about driving a porsche 911 which just feels intimate
Its one thing to take a shot at the KING. Its completely another to fall in complete disgrace then fail in such short spectacular fashion. Its easy to hit one single, its another to be the HOME RUN KING.
It takes SO much more to do it year after year, decade after decade, half a century after half a century.
It will take ALOT more for Datsun to compete. I have to admit those lil Datsun 1970 pickups were cute.

I think the GT-R will only be good at controlling weeds underneath it as it sits broken down in your back yard.
no, GTR is wider. it mows more fasta.
plus when the granny blow up, it will take out all the weeds.

Default Car of the Year, Schmar of the Year

Just remember, one of those mags put the Ford Fusion in the #1 spot this year, so go ahead and trade in your current car for one of those if that is the ultimate evaluation ....

I saw a article about the Lexus LFA got me to thinking. Looked like a GTR copy.
Maybe next year Lexus's stuff will have some lines of hummers and SUV's too.
Since Lexus is halucinating thinking they can copy the life of a Porsche I want the right to halucinate Porsche will trade me a 917 for my car.
Yah probably they are trying to grab a part of the sales with visual look alike games.

GTR is still king.
As a road car, I would agree compared to R8 and TT, at half price, except for status maybe.
My friend has a GTR as a daily driver in Europe (On my recommendation to get the first one.) and loves it over the other cars. He does not track it.

As a track car I sold my GTR and kept my GT3, just love and trust it more. Out of these 3 would only trust the TT for track use dependability and would take a GT3 over the TT. On track N/A is better.

I would be curious to see someone do 24 track days in a year with both a stock TT/GT3/GT2 and stock anything else with similar laptimes and tally up the usables like maintenace, tires, pads, rotors, repairs and see how they hold up. We all know you can beat on a TT or GT3, the others are just less proven in scale.

Rarely do you see an R8 or GTR on track, but TT's and GT3's all over the place....
Corvettes and Vipers are much more known, just as fast, but still need aftermarket stuff to survive the track.

Those are great cars. A friend of mine who has a very nice car collection has one for a daily driver as well. He is constantly driving around town for work and hauling small things so he wanted something that was versatile but fun.
