The BBS 7 spoke CUP replica wheel on the street GT3 is the ulimate combo.

Now only if the would make a 5 lug for us 997.1 owners and grand-am cup.....
I couldn't agree more. If they make them in 18s with 5 lugs, I will order them with gold centers of course.

Is it just me or are the centres too small for this wheel?... Looks like there is just too much chrome section... Not doing it for me.... Hopefully 18s will look better.

Its probably an 18" center mounted to a 19" outer. Had an old set of Fikses that looked similar.... 17" center w/ 18" outer from when 18" wheels first came out.

You can barely see part of the tire size in the pic. Looks like something 30ZR18. Hope they make a 19!

I have a set of 19 BSS RS GT 5 lug wheels left from my 997S that I used for the track. Do you think I can just change the centers to center locks??

^ RSGT is regular BBS, not BBS motorsport model. i think if you really wanted to, you can find centerlock centers and get it all to work, but it may actually be cheaper if you sold RSGT and get a new set though.

BBS should know something about 18" in the next week or 2 they told me. Same with CCW.

In general I have a fear of tools, so here some stupid questions:
I have seen some tools mentioned in other threads from ToolTopia and SnapOn, but now that some Rennlisters have used the CL's for a few months, what are the cheapest tools that will get the job done to take them off and put them on?

- Breaker bar 48" (Really that long needed?) I guess I need to break it loose with the hand brake on, than jack up the car.
- Torque wrench that can get 370Lbs = 500Nm of torque
- Socket (Porsche part, comes with the car right?)

I assume it will be in the manual, but what is the procedure; Torque the nut, loosen a bit and torque again?
What do you use once you break the nut loose? Can you unscrew the rest of the nut by hand?

Is there a way to screw this up, because I will.

to break the CLs nut on my Cup (325 ftlbs)...just block the wheel w/ a 2x4, or?, and I use a 3' long Snap-On breaker bar which easily does the trick.
I do use a nickel-based lube on the threads...which I don't know is recommended on the street cars.

The ToolTopia wrench can be used for removal. Torque force will be greater for removal.

The hand brake alone may not be enough, someone will have to apply the brake pedal. A two person job.

Once you break the nut you can unscrew via the socket as the lock is depressed via the socket or you can use your finger to depress it.

Torque the wheel, back off by 1/6 turn and re-torque is the procedure

Thanks!
So as long as I increase the torque setting, I can use it as a breaker bar also. Good.

Soooo... The car comes with a personal assistent??

Looking forward to first road trip flat. Nobody will have the tools to get the wheel off and it'll take three tries on the tow truck until you get one that can handle the front end clearance...
