What size tires would you run with 18"? I did a quick search recently. Couldn't find anything the the form of the usual suspects (RA1, R6, PSC, etc) that would provide roughly the same overall width.

In general I have a fear of tools, so here some stupid questions:
I have seen some tools mentioned in other threads from ToolTopia and SnapOn, but now that some Rennlisters have used the CL's for a few months, what are the cheapest tools that will get the job done to take them off and put them on?

- Breaker bar 48" (Really that long needed?) I guess I need to break it loose with the hand brake on, than jack up the car.
- Torque wrench that can get 370Lbs = 500Nm of torque
- Socket (Porsche part, comes with the car right?)

I assume it will be in the manual, but what is the procedure; Torque the nut, loosen a bit and torque again?
What do you use once you break the nut loose? Can you unscrew the rest of the nut by hand?

Is there a way to screw this up, because I will.

I don't have the sizes handy, but I know whe have a choice of Toyo, Hoosier and Michelin and yokohama slicks..
I listed the RA1's and Hoosiers R6 out for myself and that is no problem compared to the OEM Revs per mile..

Anyone hear something about wheels? I'd like to hit the track soon..

I would stay away from the slicks Peter unless it is track only car. Slicks should require a signifant change in the spring rates to handle well, verses your stock tires or any R compounds.

I've been told by BBS that the 18" and 19" 3-piece wheels are ready to go. They come in 9" and 12" width.

They differ from the standard Cup wheels in that Cup wheel is flat in the center-bore area and uses a spring plate that is attached with three small screws. The RS wheel is tapered in the center-bore and is locked on with a special nut.

I was told that the RS wheel at this time only comes in silver, but I found the pictures below of the Rohrl car from the Sport Auto site. I don't think I like the entire wheel painted red. Do you think just the center painted red would look good on my grey/red RS?

These BBS centerlocks and the GMG centerlocks are both my favorite for the MY 10-11 GT3

Photoshop time. Grey Black centers with Red rim or vice versa? Maybe mix silver with Red? Lots of ways to go on Grey Black car.

Personally, I think your car will look better with the BBS wheel spoke painted in the standard BBS silver paint.

but you might want to add the RED centerlock Bolt,
to make it even better.(Contrasting Color)

because the RED Centerlock Bolt will look in harmony with the Red BBS sticker on the wheel lips.

plus Silver spoke wheel will better suit any brake caliper color (red/yellow caliper).

I am hoping they make them in 5 bolt as well. I just don't think they will.

It would seem that BBS will be doing both a monoblock (RE- specifically for new GT3) and various E 3-piece wheels in centrelock option (E28, E88)...

I think the centers are the same size for either 18s or 19s. The 18s will look better. I keep hoping for a 5 bolt version.

Hey, according to the website, the E series wheels can all be done in 5 bolt without issue. The REs, I don't know but I doubt....
