They will not do "Gulf Blue"
Some say you cannot copyright a color, but in Germany the rules are different.

Yes they did the GT!
But NO more.

Spoke to the Mgr. Factory Collection/Customer Consultation Exclusive & Tequipment (from Germany)
and we covered that exact topic at the LA Auto Show.

One would have to pick a close match color (which there are) but not Gulf Blue.

Wink

My wife has a pair of baby blue panties. Maybe I'll submit a pair close to gulf blue to Porsche HQ. We'll call it "paradise blue" just a hair darker than gulf blue. How about that? We'll have to get that clear coat right, of course.

^ Indeed. I had the same conversation with the same response... I did just receive an email from the same individual, regarding trim color, which I will post verbatim:

"We are working hard to introduce some more options for
the 911 GT3 RS for the US market - at the moment we
got stuck in analyzing the systems (German and US) to
figure out how to make it work.
If we can accomplish that, we most likely will (for the
beginning) only be able to offer:
- Exterior accents & decals in exterior color or black
- Wheels in exterior color or black.
But this has not yet been approved."

Why not have your GT wrapped in Gulf Blue? You then have the paint protected if/when you want to sell the car.

I'm not sure how you get them to do Paint to sample Gulf Blue, but I wonder the same thing everytime I think about getting another P car. Reality is, I've seen the factory do it on almost every model. There's a 993 C4S floating around in Gulf Blue. I've seen a Cayman S in Gulf Blue...Carrera GT......all saying they are a factory jobs....and I believe it. If you go to the factory they tell you that the dealers aren't telling you the truth that "they'll never do it".....problem is, you still need to find a dealer to step up to the plate for you and help make it happen. The Gulf Blue/Black Wheels is just about one of my favorite combo's.....of course next to RS Orange/Blk!
