I was told by the representative from Porsche Customer Consultation (Exclusive & Tequipment) that the rights to Gulf Blue are owned by Gulf Oil. He said they had given approval for a Carrera GT in that color but that it is no longer possible and would not be possible as a paint to sample color.

Jellybean palate is your friend:

Speed/Ferrari yellow
Maritime/Mexico/Turquoise/Riviera blue
Viper/Signal Green
Orange
Guards Red
And if you're feeling really ballsy, Rubystone Red

Metallics like Basalt black, Midnight blue, Vesuvius, Granite Green etc. might look great, exotic even, but a bit out of place on a track toy and probably more suitable on something like a TT.

I'm thinking about a special P.T.S. black. Just slightly different than the regular black--just to be a little different.

That's too bad. Defeats the purpose.

On the cup the trim looks silver and the color looks to be a blueish gray. At least on my screen it doesn't even look close when compared side by side...

Now I would say those pictures look like the RS color with gold trim, looks totaly different than the pics I have.

Yup. And all the photos, both the ones you posted and the ones of mine, are from the same Porsche web presentation for the Cup car. Just different conditions - camera settings, flash, lighting, etc.

Even the White Gold on the Blue RS from the UK launch looks different photo to photo - more silver in some photos vs gold in others. This is why, as others have highlighted, you can't trust photos on the web to give a true representation.

Keep you posted if I get a confirm.

There seems to be two color combos. See clip at 2:23:
