Default Bad News

I have heard from several dealers that there will be no second round (March-Sept.) GT3 allocations. I have waited 5 years to do a Euro delivery of a GT3, and this Spring was to be the time. So this is bad news for me. I am reaching out to the Rennlist community for anyone who may have a late build GT3 allocation, that is still amendable, and that they no longer want. Any other ideas are also welcome. I have considered taking delivery of a C2S and trading for a GT3 when I get back, but it just would not be the same. I was looking forward to having the GT3 on the Autobahn, at the Porsche driving school in Leipzig and taking it around (and around) on the Nuremburgring. Thanks in advance for your help.

This issue has been posted on this forum earlier. It was no surprise given the number of GT3 that are still waiting for buyers on dealers lots.

Default porsche and bmw

Hey Haku,

Noticed we both have 2010 gt3s and bmw motorcycles--I am up the road in Louisville. I just got back from a 10K trip to the arctic circle on my 92 R100GS. Should I take my gt3 next time?!

John, you know what they say... Great minds think alike! Hehe.

Glad you pm'd. The BMW bikes and the GT3.. it really is the perfect combination.

I'd love to hear more about your 10k trip... it must have been some adventure. Once I get more experience on the bike, a long adventure is def on the cards.

Yep, not too far away... maybe do the Smokies and Cherohala sometime with other like minded folk?

BTW, not wanting to highjack this thread I have pm'd you an extended version of this reply.

If I were you I'd just call some dealers....I'm sure some still have late allocations they would LOVE to put a customer in. If you need help, give us a call....we have a lot of contacts with Porsche dealers.

My guy called me back. They were told last month that they would get some more allocations by Thanksgiving. Then this week he was told that they are not getting any.

If people are knocking at your door to buy something, it seems nuts to turn them away. When buying a car in this price range people want them optioned the way they want and with the delayed options, not the way the dealers have them optioned. So the first round of cars sit. Now no second round of cars the way individuals would order them. Looks like you can't win either way this time..

The problem is that people are not knocking that hard. I understand people wanting their own options, but some buyers expect these cars to go for $8-10k off. If the allocations dry up the lot cars will likely go fairly quickly. A good thing for Porsche, dealers and current owners.

Porsche should have offered DE mounts, lift and black wheels from the outset or simply delayed the car's release. Black wheels are still unavailable but listed on the configurator.

If no more 2010's become available, they'll be a very limited number of cars with PADM.

It seems that Porsche might not allocate any future GT3s. As of today there are only 107 available GT3s that show up in the U.S.. I did the same search about 30 days ago when GT3-RS orders were announced and there approx 115 GT3s available. Now that customers are realizing that their hopes to get an RS are merely "hopes" alot of guys are picking from the nicer GT3s. I will do another search for GT3s in about 10 days to see if the number of avail units shrink any further. I personally hope Porsche sends another small batch of allocations for GT3s, however I think I will be dissapointed.

I am surprised there are that many available. It is likely that some of the 107 are sold, right?
