Car looks great. Have a safe journey and I'll be following your trip. Which route are you taking? A few years back I made it from San Francisco to Maryland in 4 1/2 days. I had one, 15 minute traffic delay the whole trip. Good luck.

when i first read the post I saw 1,797 miles for an average speed of 141mph and was really impressed. Then I noticed the space after the comma and the readout and was still impressed but not as much.

Rain heavy rain leaving LA, so glad to have PS2's
Dust storms in AZ, to where traffic came to a halt.

What's up with the Phoenix area and all the Un-maned Policemen?
Photo Enforcement Zones are everywhere...Cameras in the median, Cars at the side of the road...Sheriff Joe Arpaio has to be making a monetary killing.

It's been a long day, Im tired...more to come
Back in Sept came upon first photo enforcement SUV parked on side of freeway (I-40) in Williams AZ. Light flashed as I came upon the SUV. I was slowing wondering what the SUV was doing parked on shoulder.

Car next to mine in slow lane passing me as light flashed.

My car has no front plate and I saw no flash after I passed SUV. Took next exit and made way back and made another pass by SUV.

This time was ready and took some pics. Got pic of speed sign just before SUV location -- 75mph -- just in case ticket arrived and claimed limit was less. Photographed the setup for my records.

So far have received nothing in the mail. (Encounter of course occurred in AZ and my car is not registered in AZ.)

Just this week on way back east again on I-40 this time passed photo enforcement SUV parked this time in Flagstaff area. On return leg came upon one just east of Kingman.

No flashes these times. Running maybe 5mph over limit (again 75mph) but other cars running faster and no one appears to be bothered by the presence of these SUVs.

Wonder if they actually work or are just there for show? No, I don't want to find out the hard way if they work.

Sincerely,

Macster.

Excellent trip! Have a safe journey.

How did you deal with the dust storm? Did you stop? Any damage on windshield or paint?

Barber bound again?
I hear you on the PS2's. Rain and MPS cups have given me a few surprises.
Travel safe and keep the pics coming.

I picked my car up in Houston and drove back to LA. Unmanned, white, speed enforcement SUV started to show up just south of Tucson through about 20 minutes west of Phoenix. In that distance we saw more than a dozen. According to a friend that lives in Tucson, they are set to not take a picture until speed exceeds 10 over the limit, which this story 'confirms'.

Did they still have signs posted just before the SUVs that warned of "speed enforcement in 300 feet". The one I stopped to check out was less than 6 car lengths from the sign... so much for them obeying the law.

Sounds like a great trip. The RS made a much better tourer than I had any reason to expect.
