Vibration at 2800rpm...normal?

During the long drive home (TN) from Destin, and the car now having done a total of some 650 miles, I noticed that there is a noticeable increase in vibration at around 2800 rpm. This eases out as the rpm increases above 3200 rpm. Is the vibration normal in GT3's ? Could this be due to the fact that the car is still being run in and new?
BTW, I've been meticulously following the recommended running in procedures and not going anywhere near 4000 revs etc.
Any info on the above issue appreciated.

Yes, vibration is normal, basically lots of things on the car are very different during run-in, - hardness of clutch, brake pedal position way up high, shifter action, steering feel.

I have it right around 3800 - 4000 rpm. Some sort of resonance. I think it's fairly common, but they don't all do it.
Don't expect it to go away after run-in, but it might. You also might want to ask your dealer to check that everything is tightly bolted down - exhaust, tips, etc., just in case.

Not in steering and gear shift at all... feels solid.
Door panels and seat of your pants... and almost like above normal road surface noise.
BTW, thanks so much for your prompt responses... the perpetual worrier that I am was ready to![crying](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigcry.gif)
I love the car though. Its home, washed and ready for Thanksgiving!

r u talking about just "vibration" or r you talking/hearing "rattles".
vibration is pretty normal.
rattles are not normal, but it's almost impossible to fix.
speaking from 996 and 997.1 gt3 variants, the full leather int tends to vibrate and rattle less than non full leather ones.

MJones, I just had my keys swapped to the new ones under warranty because my old ones randomly wouldn't work in downtown Toronto (interference?). The new keys are from the 2010 models and it's driving me insane! You would think they'd realize that loose metal on metal is a bad thing in an interior...

My 996 RS has no leather at all and it's totally rattle free (except for the cup holders in cold weather - annoying).
But, as I said earlier, I do have some mechanical resonance around 3900 rpm. It's noticeable but no big deal. I'm pretty sure the OP is describing the same thing.

Driven "normally" (sort of how this car in meant to be driven
) NO vibration! Hooray! and... no rattles!
I guess my vibration issue was because of a long rough surface highway drive. I'll be keeping an eye on the issue.
