Default GT3 and RS- Would You Order PDK? Or Manual?

Based upon some interesting comments and rumors in another post, I am very curious:

If a PDK option was available in the GT3 or GT3RS, would you chooose it?

Poll attached. Enjoy.

I've just come out of a 4S PDK into a GT3...aahhh just freedom and refreshing. Therefore there would have to be some compelling reason for me to go down the PDK road in the near future. Don't see that reason for a while.

I would want to have it but this would be a cost benefit deal. If I could get the car for <$150 with my picks then yes. It would make it a much nicer DD and like the Ferrari with the push of a button the shifting mapping changes for proper tracking.

I know PDK shifts faster than I can, but... With the lightweight flywheel in Nugget's RS, managing the heel-toe and shifts myself is just such a pleasure. I'm not on the track to lay down the best time. I'm on the track to have fun. And oh, is that thing fun. The gear ratios on the '07 RS would be a little annoying in stop-and-go traffic, but other than that, I'd be fine daily-ing it. I've dealt with worse as a daily driver and didn't mind.

Unless there's something different about the '10 RS that'd make me like it less, I'd want the traditional manual.

I like the manual for the street (but not commuting) and pleasure, but if the car is tracked (which this one s/b) got to go w/ PDK, to avoid a nasty/costly mis-down shift.

Bingo.

I'm sure I'll be faster if my car is PDK, and I'm sure some people will have more track pleasure by generating a faster track time and passing everyone else. But manual for me any day.

On my last track day which was an open track day on my home track that I'm familar with, I spent almost 3 hours total track time. I'm afraid I may fall asleep if I drive a PDK car...

I want to see how well it functions over the long term before I buy that component. Remember the first generation PCCB problems.

I agree, I'd take the manual on the street. For the track, I'd certainly be faster and more at ease with the PDK. Since I'd use the car for both scenarios, I'd go with the PDK.

PDK is faster, better, more precise.
It feels a bit artificial to me, less play than with a third pedal.

But part of my hobby is getting it just right, or at least try to get it righ myself. No PDK for me.

And the second generation as well if you count the people who track and got a weekend or two out of them.

I drove a PDK car on track and I was able to concentrate more on driving the line without the distraction of the clutch and gear shift. I would buy it for sure.

I voted for PDK, but it would have to have paddles, not the present buttons

+1 This is exactly what I missed in the PDK. The odd moment when one's co-ordination and everything comes together... a magic moment. It can make a particular drive memorable.

PDK is cool for the "cruisers". But, as long as I keep putting my "man pants" on, it's still manual all the way. Why buy a sports car with an automatic? Makes no sense to me.

Interesting to me that the PDK would be so popular in the "hardcore" machines. 2:1 is closer that I would have guessed. I would have thought 5:1 in favor of manual.

No personal dog in the fight, either would be great

I suppose if one has more than one car, a stick should be represented for "fun" driving. No doubt though a PDK would be faster on the track.

Totally in love wif manual but in small country where I live, people are suckers on technology so hv to evolve. PDK for me if available and hopefully it is slightly rough one like the single clutch version of semi automatic. I still love that jerky sensation found in those F1, E-Gear, SMG type of gearboxes. I guess, dream on for me.
