Whats the latest and greatest on the PCCB brakes PAG is putting on the new GT3? Is it a worthwhile option for a street/track car? Are the first generation durability issues sorted out?

Please don´t take this in a bad way, but looking at your car park AND your number of posts, you should be on top of this question yourself. You´ve probably read and contributed to this issue as much as any other person on here...
Speaking from my own experiences with MkI 997GT3 Pccb, I would have nothing else.

as far as I know Porsche is still producing PCCB that will only work with original pads and that are NOT GOOD AT ALL for track use, unless you just go in for a one session fun. They ARE delicate and eat pads like hell. Porsche AG told us to use green pagid on them for track use, but THEY DO NOT WORK AT ALL. THat is: it's the solution for supercup cars, but they run without ABS. On the street car the ABS won't comply with the green pads and will work too much. (this was tested in 3 different tracks with 3 cars).
Only solution was to switch to the Porsche cup steel brakes, but after using 6 sets in a season' racing we'll try some Brembos if the rules allow us.
We do club sport racing on a 997 GT2 my 2009.

I am having 2nd thoughts RE PCCB. Although they are incredable and superior to Steel, Durability is an issue with track use...so I will continue to monitor discussions before I configure my RS (hopefully).

the PCCBs improve with each new generation of car. the rotor on the 10s and the ABS is different than the earlier. Bite better and last longer. I had them on my 2004 and the current 2007. I will stay with PCCB.

FWIW, this may be helpful to the discussion ^.
I just replaced my PCCB rotors (with a new PCCB set) even though there's life left in most of them except the driver's side inside rear. The car now has 32k total miles of which I reckon about 9k are track miles. I've only used the black, P40, "street" pads. The rears have averaged between 8-10 track days. The car has seen 60 track days including 25 + days at some real hard braking venues like Watkins Glen. Never a brake fade.
I wonder how many sets of steels and brake pads I would have gone thru for the same amount of track time?
Hope this helps.

I used the Porsche greens on the 996. The front pads are P-50 material the rear is the same as black (p-40) material the pads are just thicker.
Do not know about the 997 pads. I was told that they are the CGT pads.\??

The only negative is the dark brown rear calipers.
I ordered my new RS with Steel again.

From what I can see... doesn't seem like much has changed. Pad options suck and they are expensive to replace when they wear out. However, it does seem the on track longevity has improved over the first gen.

Get the PCCBs they are worth the money.
And, you might want to check with the family about that 06 CGT..that would be pretty special!
