This was one of my deciding factors when I was purchasing a house about 10yrs ago. I refused to even look at a house if I had to worry about rolling down the driveway as I washed my car. It would have to be one hell of a deal for me to buy one that didn't have a flat drive. Working at UPS, you wouldn't beleive the set-up's I used to see back when I delivered.

That Griots Garage thing is VERY cool. It's pretty much what I envisioned in my head.
Wonder if they'd take it back if it doesn't work. Or I could make my own and nail it to the road.

The griots ramp won't work for my cars/driveway - I recently bought a second house and had to over come the height difference of the road to the driveway.
The only way I can make it into the driveway is with 2" X 12" X 40" ramps. The griots ramp is only 16" wide, the over hang, or distance from the leading edge of my front tires, to the nose of my cars is minimum of 32" and up to 37". I have a elevation difference of 5" from the road to my driveway. Of course, the other factor is how low the front of the car is.
Since I don't use the house on a daily basis its not much of an inconvenience.

This is exactly what I did. I put in 2.5" PVC pipe and covered it with concrete. Every few days the pipe gets plugged with leaves and stuff being washed down with the water so the water just flows over the ramp. My neighbors are cool and nobody has complained.

I have a similar problem. Gotta get it right or scrape. With a new car coming soon with a lower front lip I have been lookning at this. May or may not work depending upon the type of curbing.

I had the same problem with a previous house and had the end 3 feet of the driveway hammered out and replaced with a lower profile version. Required a permit and had to be reinforced to the city's specs but sure saved a lot of aggravation in the long run.

"When bolted together the ramps weigh from 120 to 170 pounds so they stay put."
Carrying that off is dedication to their 'craft'.
I guess you could add one or more of their 4 feet extensions so that the criminals would have to carry off something that's 20 feet long and weighs over 200 pounds.

my driveway is a nightmare - the angle from the street to the sidewalk is pretty steep and about 3 feet long, if I come in at a very precise angle and the exact speed I can just barely avoid scraping - going out is even more difficult. Griots solution would work if the ramp was longer. I may build a plywood ramp and tell the neighbors its for the kids skateboards

A pair of old time steel skate wheels come to mind. You know, from the old clamp on your shoe soles skates. Personally I took the bottom spoiler edge off of my '01 C4 and stored it.
