Default Help with GMG roll bar install....

Can anyone with one of these:

http://www.gmgracing.com/images/wcgtbar_lg.jpg

installed please tell me how you attach/retain the factory 3pt seatbelt with
this installed, a picture would be even better!

I'm stumped, since the bolts recess into the mounting down at the door sill
where the factory belts normally bolt I dont see how to safely install them!

Thanks

- Larry

Sadly no the vidoes only show how to get the bar into the car....

When I spoke to fabryce last he said to talk to his mechanic

I thought someone here must have done this and could post a
Picture worth 1000 mechanics words!

Problem is or the advantage of this bar is that thew bolts recess
Completely into the mount so its not clear where to put the factory
Belts

I think that the seat belt will not connect to that location anymore, but rather connects to the top hole up the bar, they must of sent 4 bolts with washers and two nuts and bolts for the seat belt.... I look for a good pic, this was the best I could find

This is a little different bar than what you have but both have the extra hoops at the bottom...your bar also has what looks like a threaded connection between the two locations. I don't think that would work, looks like it would leave the belt at a funny angle

Cheers Jerry, that's exactly how I thought it might attach ... I didn't get the
necessary bolts with the bar though

time for a call to GMG ...

Ther threaded connection is for eyelets to allow the lap belt to clip in ...
you are correct that the factory belt would be at a 90 degree angle
if I used those ... not good!

Got details from Fabryce @ GMG (thanks!) ...

I ordered some 10.9 class M16x35mm hex bolts, nuts and washers from mcmaster.com ... that should
do the trick to attach the factory belt to the bar on the tab in the pictures earlier in the thread

ok ignore the above, the sizes are wrong, waiting for Fabryce to tell me what M size they use to attach the
belts to the bar ...

Larry,
I have the same exact bar from Fabryce as the post #5 from Jerry. Same color, same Moton cans. It is a good fit, nice finish and does not rattle. Received and installed this style bar before they introduced their latest model that connects to the rear shock towers.

Daryl

you wouldn't happen to know what M-bolt size is used to attache the factory
belts to the tab on the bar would you?
