MSRP = Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price

Anyone please correct me if I am wrong but I think that is what it stands for.

MSRP is the window sticker number without any market "adjustments" up or down.
The "fair market" price right now on GT3s in stock seems to be below MSRP.

Yes, MSRP is the current street price, and even at MSRP they are not moving that well. I think it is a good deal at $115k or less, heavily equipped cars at $135k or more not so good, as they get into 997.2 GT3 RS territory.

The new 997.2 RS won't move as well as it did the last time, this economy is a totally different animal, so chances are that the new RS will be sitting in the dealer's showroom for a while at MSRP.

Best deal for the money, the 997.1 GT2.

I hope you're wrong, if only for the sake of Porsche. How many RS's will be built for the US? How many per dealer for 2010? Will there be a 2011? Once we get some details, we shall see.

Here, I think you're right, especially if rumors of deeply discounted GT2s (though not advertised) are true. But I think the GT2 is also had a very bad arrival to market and bungled by PCNA and its dealers. I think a GT2 and just update the front suspension geometry to the 997.2 RS and you have a helluva a lot of car with probably pretty reasonable retained value from here with no apparent 997.2 GT2 in sight. Then again, a 997.2 Turbo with PDK might be more fun and more versatile.

you're quite intuitive!

the dealer has a .2 GT3 @MSRP, but a .1 GT2 with 400 mi for only a bit more (well, not really a "bit" but deeeeeeply discounted from MSRP).

i'm tempted by the GT2, but no one really needs that much power for what will be 90% street use. i also like the purity of the NA hi-rev job in the 3.

to the other posters; i know what it stands for, i just wanted to know if that's what they are selling for. i'm somewhat surprised that they are not being discounted more.

What specific GT3 is priced well at $115k, a $135k car? Yeah, that's gonna happen.

Find one in stock = deal. Order = msrp.

I think that is how it is shaking out generally (as it should be taking floor plan and other inventory costs into account, etc., in this economy).

If anyone is getting below msrp on ordered allotted cars, pls pipe up!

TIA.

so how far is "low" on an in-stock GT3. has trinkets, but i like trinkets!

to me, the most often ordered, most often neglected option is the wart. when you're gong fast, the last thing you need is an electronic protocol. there are better items that are cheaper. in fact the next time i'm at the track i will bring my Garmin. one piece, will do what a traqmate does. in fact, i think i'll try my 405 wrist band. will also map with velocity, and i can track my heart rate too! won't do G's however

Agreed, no dash wart for my ordered car.
