So why rally a GT3 RS? The car looks like a real handful, it doesnt look like it instills confidence. I'm sure I'm not saying anything you dont already know but man could an EVO or an STi be a lot faster for a lot less money! Just curious what the attraction was...

+1, I wouldn't want to risk damaging an RS in a rally.

Nice video to watch though.

I think the guy is doing a good job, driving the rear engine, rear drive pig in VARIABLE conditions. The pig moniker comes from years ago when some well known Porsche driver was asked about his ride (934?) and he said + - "hard to make a race horse out of a pig, but you can make a real fast pig".

I think he did a great job and has great car control. Driving in those variable conditions, in a GT3 has to be one of the toughest things you can do in a car, and I think he handled the challenge very well.

it is a tarmac rally. since it is not gravel, road cars can make quick work of paved stages. And p-cars make it very exciting!

A RS gives the owner that much more a "base" to start with over a non RS GT3
I think rallys are very popular in europe. Alot of 996/997 cup car converted to paved rally specs over there.

the car in the video is being thrown around like an irish house wife on st.patties day, but it is all controled drifts and slides which are predictable in that car when it happens. (lotsa fun)

EVO and STI prepped rally cars are in the ballpark of $150 000.00.

*on tarmac stages i have handed a factory STI rally car its *** in the past...

This RS is in the neighbourhood of 150k. (id prefer to own the p-car @ the end of the day if it were my 150k)

Who has bigger *****? The driver, the car owner, or the spectators?

I'd rather take my parachute off and on again while skydiving then stand on the side of the road at a rally like that.

And I'm nuts. Really.

I did notice that where the car had the BIG off, there were no spectators nearby. But, yes they are crazy being that close to the action!!
