The official pictures of the new RS do not have the headlight sprayer, but I think that is a one off example. I would love to have the standard Bi-Xenon without the washers. I have never found the washer to be any useful over my many years of driving.

Default Washers due to Gov't Regs

The Xenons and Bi-Xenons have always required headlight washers by German authorities to insure that the Xenons' incredible strong light projection does not inadvertently blind uncoming traffic. Xenons are more sensitive to debris on the lens (dirt, snow, dead bugs) deflecting the path of their uber light rays than the lesser Halogens. It is a safety issue according to the TUV officials. And if TUV thinks that is an issue and mandates washers, imagine how the nannies at our DOT feel about the matter. Personally, I would take the weight penalty any day (instead eat less & start that needed diet now) and have the benefit of the Bi-Xenons, even if night drives might be infrequent for most of the track-only guys. You can also camouflage the washers by ordering option XUB (Headlight Cleaner Cover Painted In Exterior Color) for $295. z356

now that people have their cars, what are you thoughts on the "dynamic cornering lights?"

There are two projectors on cars equipped with the dynamic cornering lights. The top one is the bi-xenon and the lower projector is a "fill-in" halogen projector. Not sure about the looks or function.

any thoughts?

I love them. They are great at night, especially during spirited driving.

I have them on my 4S DD. I did not order them on my RS. The Bi-Xenon lights without DCL are excellent. As to the headlamp washers, just make sure the bottle is empty and the weight difference is very small. I think the liquid weighs more than the small pump and plastic hose

seems like they deemed it useful for the 24hr race at the nurburgring.
