"Dynamic Cornering Lights"

"Dynamic Cornering Lights"
Option 603 from the order guide: "Headlight adjust dynamically based on speed and turn angle".
To me, based on street cars that I have with this option, it is quite important, more so that the type of lighting source (halogen / Bi-Xenon).
Is this option available also with the "Lightweight Headlights"? No conflicts are mentioned.
Anybody knows how much more weight is involved with this option?
Thanks!

Funny you mention this- last night I was driving from South Lake Tahoe back to Reno at 9 PM. On the twisty mountain roads. And marveling how the DCL were so amazingly effective. To me, the added safety and convenience factor make this choice a no-brainer for any car that might ever be driven at night.
Oh- Order guide says the DCL and LW HL option are conflicting. So BiXenon and DCL are your only choice.

What should be the best lighting option for an RS that is only driven as a weekend car? Will not drive too much during the night. I will not get the light weight light, so I guess the standard Xenon?

I wouldn't get the dynamic cornering light option if the car is basically a weekend ride with minimal night usage. I skipped it on my .2 GT3 order. Imo, they are mostly beneficial if used frequently on poorly lit roads. I have them on my BMW 335. They're okay, but if didn't know any better, I really wouldn't notice.

I think for people who will track their cars regularly, light weight lights makes a lot of sense. With PCCB, radio delete and light battery you get an RS with about 90 Lb less weight than a standard car. That's 3% better power to weight ratio with better braking to boot.

I can't see how lighter lights would help anyone besides LeMans racers. There isnt anyone here that is SO good you would be able to tell your GT3/RS is lighter by a few photons. Unless your GT3 is a track only
(why wouldnt you then buy a used Cup car, it would be cheaper) the cornering lights are a better safety item than a weight saving issue. The weight savings of 40lbs unsprung weight per corner from PCCBs is significant on the street and the track. Lightweight lights is not an issue of any concern.

We pay a lot more for the RS (partly) due to added "lightness". To take 90 Lb off and keep the car 100% original, no aftermarket BS, is no small matter. To each his own, of course. IMHO, the light weight lights (which I have on my current RS) are more than sufficient for occasional night time driving. They used to be state of the art until few years back...I have the Bi-Xenon on my 6GT3 and and when I drive the RS (rarely) at night I don't feel like I am missing in light department.
