Would be a great option at half the price (should be same price as a lightly equipped Carrera S), the way they usually price the "special" models which is just a way to unload cars that are soon to be replaced...

I think this extends that normal "special" envelope a little bit. The changes are quite extensive, body, engine wider rear track, etc.
I agree it makes for interesting speculation about the next 911.... 400HP?.
It is interesting that the Sport Classic doesn't have PDK.
408HP with PDK would challenge many RS/GT3 times.
Beautiful car!

I agree that this engine probably gives a very good glimpse of what the 991 C2S will use (~410hp).
I bet they will have a similar car (with reasonable pricing and fewer special cosmetic enhancements) a year from now to move out all the old inventory of 997's to make room for the 991. That one will have PDK optional (not that I'd want it).
I disagree that this car would challenge the laptimes of a GT3 or RS. Although it has 410hp (vs. 435 or 450hp), it has a lower redline (1,000rpm lower) which means the gearing needs to be taller than the GT3 (and much taller than RS).
