GT3RS Color Choices
#46
That's the color of my 550 Maranello - I like it better than Rossa Corsa for that car... It never looks the same car to car or in changing light (can look dark maroon or bright red, depending on light).
I was just at Pebble Beach and they had 6 or 7 Ferrari 166 Barchettas there (where the color gets its name) and no two of them were painted the same shade of Rossa Barchetta

loved the colour options on the 997MKI GT3RS ... not really feeling the gold and blue
if i had to choose it would be the grey/red and red/white ...

Not to hijack, but I have always loved the 550/575 Maranellos - much less boy-racerish than most F cars, very elegant yet with serious specs on paper. Curious as to your overall impressions, likes and dislikes, costly/common repair items...might pick one of those up one day as a keeper now that prices are rapidly declining.

As an independent opinion, Agree the 996 RS had the best color combinations out of these cars to date. Both the White/Red and White/Blue just looked right for the car. I think the only choice for which exterior color should have been the brake choice: steel brakes with red calipers looked perfect with White/Red and PCCBs with Yellow calipers looked best with White/Blue. With the MKI 997 GT3, I always liked White/Black best.

Do you mean the 7.1 RS? If so I like white/black too... However, am I remembering correctly that this wasn't really an official factory option? Although it seems more than one person did it, I thought the colors were Green/Black, Orange/Black, Black/Orange, Silver/Orange, and WHITE (all white no graphics) when ordered from the factory and anything else (like black on white or silver on black) were done after delivery.

Sounds like the current color choices are firm, with no color-matching option expected to be offered. I spoke this w/e with a local dealer General Manager - who just attended a PCNA dealership meeting in NYC. I know this is usual line, but he reiterated that the RS will be "much more limited" than regular GT3.
On the other hand, he did offer Slot #1 to me being an repeat customer!

I am getting one but heard the same thing. Definitely no PTS. I will keep my green RS.1 and get the RS.2 in white/red. Looks like we can delete the decals or paint, will try to get the front "lipstick" painted body color and order some 996 GT3 RS decals if the color matches

My dealer confirmed today that there is no PTS on the motorsport built cars. I am growing to like the grey with red although I would change the flag side decals to something else. Either that or get a red/white one and Martini it again.
