I was only ' hmmmm-ing ' at the oil leak but surely you can understand where guys might be touchy with this topic.
I think it is a non RMS issue as well. My old c4s had a similar leak from the top of the motor, it was the oil fill tube that was cracked (m96 engine).
Nice screen tag.

Sorry to hear about it. My RS never stopped leaking and they finally replaced the engine. But, uh, I'll race you anytime!

Thanks for the feedback. Im anxiously awaiting a call from the dealer.
btw, roberga, nice guess, i like that interpretation. However its actually based on a french euphemism, derived from classic french lit and gangster rap. Yeah, alittle out there i know...
zbb07030 -- will you be at road atlanta the end of the month?

Oil Leak
It looks possible from the photos that you provided that you may have what they call a "front main seal" leak. It's at the front of the engine near the pulley. Not a great sign on a new engine. The seal can easily be replaced by removing the bumper and the rear muffler to gain access. Have the dealer replace the seal with the motorsport (double flanged seal).
Good luck.
Good luck.

Do you recall what your oil level showed once you started it up and drove it to the dealer? A 3 INCH ring wouldn't really amount to much of a drop on that electronic sender.
