Hopefully people can see beyond the obnoxious fools and take this seriously. Im obviously concerned and so is the dealership. I left the car with them, and they told me last night they were going to contact headquarters. I brought up the RMS leak. However as of last night they were not sure where the leak originates.

Hard to say where your leak is coming from without pictures but I'd be betting it is probably some fitting that is loose or faulty and is leaking due to use now that it is being driven-maybe check around the oil tank. Were it a heavily leaking RMS or block, I think it would have been leaving puddles everywhere during shipping and delivery and should have been picked up at the dealer...

Honest feedback is appreciated. Other less constructive critisism is not appreciated. Dont like it, RACE ME!!

Sometimes you can get great advice from blogs. You just have to sort thru the retards who like to hide and yell the sky is falling.

Hey U4IA187, nothing against you with my response, but some times you just need to step back and laugh at posts some times!

I love the part about, "IM not a troll". So funny to read that. I totally understand your position that you do not appreciate the less constructive critisism, but it does make the world go around!

In any event, I hope all is well with your car. Besides, I have wanted to use the OFF TOPIC icon for some time now!

sorry to hear about this, I have a 997.1 gt3 & was recently concerned on the lack of oil my uses. I just returned from a 2800mile trip around europe, including 8 epic laps around the Nurburgring and the oil gauge in the car remains at maximum. I have to park on a hill to get the oil gauge to move from its max mark.

the only leaks I have had are from the aircon or least thats what i assume it is as its water & not oil on the garage floor occasionally.

good luck with car, when its back & ok its so much fun on a track

I'm sure you can understand we may question your credibility if someone shows up, no posts, and says there is a 3 FOOT puddle underneath their car with no photos....for those of us with Mk 1 cars that leak, its a cruel reminder.

Very concerned that Porsche has stated publicly that they now understand and have "Fixed" the problem...if your story is true (and it turns out to be RMS leak and not something simple like a loose bolt or pipe) this could be very worrisome

Please post photos of the leak, location and any updates from the dealer

Spoke with the dealer, he doesn't think the leak was from the RMS because it was too much of an oil leak. Also the oil seemed to drip from the top of the engine. They removed the tranny, said they were gonna check the pressures in the crank case, and go from there. Progress but nothing definitive.

Not to get to far ahead, but, I'd become well versed in your State's Lemon Laws, if I were you, U4IA187. Keep a detailed log, with dates, times, contact names and days out of service.

How frustrating to have your brand new car being taken apart. Hope you get this resolved very soon. Keep us posted.

^ Yep didn't sound like RMS; maybe an "Oktoberfest" type thing ( ie someone had a few too many beers on the line or the night before and forgot to tighten something down) - hopefully. Keep us posted & GL !

Seriously, were the knee jerk reactions from posters 7,10,12 and 14 justified given the info provided up to that point? Even if the claim turns out to be bogus, and it doesn't sound that way to me, it seems like the attacks were a little premature!
