Here's a few pix/updates guys on the two 997 GT3's we're building... one is a white 2008 and the other a silver 2007.
Out she comes:

![](http://videos.g33kd.net/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3_08.JPG)
Guys we should all take a lesson here... This clutch has seen 37,000 "hard" (and I mean that) miles yet look at the condition![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
![](http://videos.g33kd.net/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3_12.JPG)
Rear main seal? Not so good... hence we're replacing all of the cars we do these motors on (or indeed LWF's) with the 996GT3 one instead.

Over to the white one... out she comes too:
![](http://videos.g33kd.net/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3_26.JPG)
A pair of very expensive motors...
![](http://videos.g33kd.net/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3_28.JPG)
The higher mileage motor did have a lot of "dirt" and other fun stuff to clean off (along with the harnesses and other parts):

Out come the cams...
![](http://videos.g33kd.net/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3_53.JPG)
Not bad for 37K? Actually pretty darn clean/amazing...

Those Ti rods are soooo light:

![](http://videos.g33kd.net/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3_40.JPG)
Fast fwd many steps
And in go the EVOMS head studs...

The white one is also getting the TechArt noselift kit installed (just like on kermit):
![](http://videos.g33kd.net/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3/sharkwerks_3-9_engine_builds_for_porsche_997_gt3_61.JPG)

One of the engine's (with the higher miles- who could that be?
is getting more of a work-over... In the connecting rod department we do feel it necessary to get new rod bearings and bolts.
Here's you can see a comparison between the pankl GT3 rod and a Twin Turbo one (yes I know it's a little bent lol!):
![](http://videos.g33kd.net/gt3rods_v_turbo_rods/P1110996.JPG)
The Titanium GT3 ones are obviously lighter but by how much you ask?![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
![](http://videos.g33kd.net/gt3rods_v_turbo_rods/P1110995.JPG)
Certainly helps the GT3 rev quicker![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Got it, thanks for clarifying. I know GT3s all come w/ Ti con-rods, but just wasn't sure about the comment above.
I am still waiting to see a 6GT3 w/ the 3.9L..

So after 37.5K on this motor you can see that there is indeed some decent wear on the rod bearings, which we're replacing.

All well and good but never mind the work to do that but because we're dealing with one-time use stretch bolts you need 12X new ones:

Take a long hard look at this $58 dollar bolt:P At least the bearings are only $19 a piece....
