I'll report back once I have a chance to "test" the car properly.
did james tell you that i am supposed to run your car and break 1:35 at LS?

hehe! If you think you can break 1:35 have at it, but I want to be there to watch!! I think either one of us will have a hard time getting the keys to my car from James until he feels it is ready for some serious abuse.

Had an amazing day testing the 3.9 vs a stock RS at Willow Springs with Cort Wagner (amazing driver!). Got plenty of vids etc...

For now here's a few pix of the day:

The pair of green machines...

Dan and Cort going around the track setting way points with the data-logger (Vbox):

Giving some folks a debrief:

Cort and I going over tire pressures etc... Or I should say him telling me how he _needs_ 325s instead of 315s:doh:

Let the pro driver set the tire pressures how he wants

Off he goes in kermit:

His weapon of choice:

There's Cort telling a few guys at the track what he thought (he hated it):

Alex, really enjoyed the thread, pure Porsche ****

Now it is up and running do you fancy comparing its basic acceleration performance to a Euro tuned one ?

The Cargraphic/RS car has the full work 105mm 4.0 litre kit on it boasting 465PS@7340rpm and 485NM@5500rpm. It weighs in at 1393kg

It was tested in that shootout recently by Sport Auto mag:
Through the gears,

100-150kph in 3.3s
100-200kph in 8.1s
100-250kph in 16.1s

or 0-250kph in 20s

Tests were done two up in summer temps....

The CG car may be a bit lighter than yours so you may have to run 1 up to get the weights similar ?

The CG/RS stuff is crazy money: 25K Euro for the 104mm (3.9) and 40K Euro for the 105mm.

Can you dig out the Drift Box and run some numbers - show 'em how its done

Thanks Toby! Really good idea indeed and originally I'd had some (I know crazy) visions of trying to bring it out to Europe to see how she would do against the more established cars/tuners but I think in order for it to even compete she needs to be TUV'd, right;(? I'll dig the VBOX out and make sure it's hooked up for the Texas Mile in a couple of weeks (where one can legally do that hehe!) and if not I'll find a "location" to do the 100-200. I'll check today but we may already have 100-150 because of the track session last week. Even if she's a bit lighter I hope our car's maybe got a time close to that in her... I think there is one guy in the US who was well on the way to doing the CG/RS 3.9. He had all of their bodywork/suspension done and I believe the motor is next. He's in SoCal and a really nice guy so we could do some back to back stuff on that too. She feels a bit like a mildly modded TT and I know she pulled on a Gallardo SL (don't ask hehe).

Any numbers for a Lambo SL and also a factory GT3RS?

Hey Toby, forgot to mention (I'd promised to post this video a while ago- just took a while to get all the info)....

Hey folks, over the past few months we've been developing/proofing our 3.9L 997GT3RS 500hp engine thanks to our collaboration with our chums over at EVOMS. If you’re into dynos, track testing, exhaust sounds, racing et al. this video we put together (the wife using Avid) should have you covered- plenty of exhaust sounds too:P We’ve collected a plethora of footage over the last few months and in particular wanted to share some of the facets of real-time tuning made available now with the EVOMSit program. Being a curious lad by nature I always wondered why nobody ever really gets to see behind the (iron?) curtain. So what’s the actual process like? And what are the tools involved when it comes to the secretive “black magic” Porsche tuning? A blend of some very expensive equipment (ok and some skill), good hardware and the EVOMSit set up and we think we have some neat results. For those of you with EVOMSit software now you know some of the how and why.

OK I better lock up... Got a nice white and and a certain silver 997GT3 at the shop that are both getting 3.9s....

very respectable times for initial shake down. Sure it will go very fast with some proper rubber.
