makes sense (all except the quoted price) as Porsche is transitioning to manufacturing the 991 and needs to clear the 997 parts out. Their standard trick is a special edition.

I just came from 2 GT3's 996 and 997. I have the 997.2 C2s now and its as close to the GT3 as you can get and still have bluetooth. There is not much room between the C2S and the GT3, performance wise.
I could see the C4S SS closing the gap between the TT and the C4S. But TMC is right clearing out parts.
Probably a C4s with the X51 and body parts.
I think its probably a false rumor. The GT3 997.2 RS hasnt even come out yet so its going to be awhile before the 997.2 is gone at least 2011.

Primer grey with brown interior??? YUK!
Don't like the ducktail either on this model 911
I do like the large oval exhaust tips. I like the much better than the fake dual tips I have on my 09 Carrera S.

I hope the drama at Porsche achieves management changes. What is this crap? Slap on a bunch of frilly nonsense and charge crazy money... this is more GM than Porsche. Porsche used to be about stripping stuff out and charging more money... At what point do customers finally feel like they're being treated in a condescending manner by their favourite company?

The money just doesnt make sense. why would they charge 222K for something thats not even a GT3 much less a GT2? Even when the company made the flachbau it was a turbo!

For example, the new GT3 costs fewer US Dollars in the USA than it costs Euros in Germany...

Looks to be more of a styling exercise than anything else...much like the "Sport Design" models of late. You can tell it is not going to be a serious sports car as it is going to be 4WD. All the real GT versions are just 2WD for lighter weight.
When is the 991 coming out? Guess what? It is not 2011. They just untroduced new drivetrains and revsed styling. They are 3-4 years out. The 997.2 version of the Turbo is going to be introduced this fall. Porsche already stretched their mid-model refresh back a year (it was originally planned in 08', but delayed due to strong sales). A major production change will need a significant investment, which is something Porsche is not looking to do right now. Don't surprised if it doesn't hit the showroom until fall 2012 as a 2013 model.
