You can get all-leather seats in a leatherette interior simply by adding option 26141 seat inlays in leather.

One option missing:
lower part of dashboard including glove compartment.

Guess your stuck with Alcatera for the lower dashboard
not if you are REALLY crazy. order full leather lower dash from 997 and swap.

I agree with 02 carrera. On a GT3 its a waste of money. Now you have a valid reason to not get leather dash.
I just cant beleive I disagreed with MJones. First time in 7,000 posts that has happened!

And I have to disagree with Old Guy. Damn! Does that mean I have to agree with MJones?

I have done it both ways and full leather is the way to go (without one iota of doubt). Maybe, I am just a sucker for that stitching on the dash.... it exudes quality!

^ it all depends on where you are on the deep cliff off automotive suicide....

i think GT3 is a great street car. not a bad track car but not really a track car. i just dont like leather, partly due to my OCD of spending hours lotioning it (i can't help it. i am taking drugs for my OCD now). if you dont mind leather then i think GT3 is fine with leather. if you really want to be hard core and all, get the cup car. mind you i just got off track yesterday with two cup cars, one driven by johannes vanoverbek..... holy sh*t.... all these years, i have been driving crap on track.... i just can't afford to maintain a cup at 35 days of track use.....

please obama, i need a bail out...
nothing a few billion won't help.

I remember when Arnaud used to have a Cayenne TT for hauling around his GT2 track car.
THAT was a RIG.

Thanks for the comments fellas... I really appreciate all the input and for the moment I'm leaning towards going the leather option + steering wheel & gear shifter. Was at the dealer today checking out the two options (std in carrera S and leather option in gt2) and I liked what I saw in the gt2. I'm sure i'll dwell on it for another week to two...

lol, thanks Mjones but the std leather is damaging the bank account as is. Add these and I'll be broke although 26141 and 26181 sound great

Hey rocket, I think it is an option... the code is XDZ i think???

One of the things we talked about early was covering the dash in leather. The chop completely recommended against it. Here is the problem, the leather expands and contracts different than the plastic surface it is laid on top of. As leather hardens over time (you can only treat the surface), it can actually warps the surface underneath. They advised me against it because they have worked on so several of these cars where the dashes became so warped than once they were pulled out to be recovered, they would not go back in.
Thanks 02 Carrera, I had heard similar things about leather and furthermore am concerned about it cracking as it ages and dries... I'm hoping that this will be less of a problem for me as it won't be a daily drive and will therefore have less exposure to the elements...

Mooty, I was partly asking the question as I have similar OCD tendencies and want to spend most of my spare time driving this thing, not pampering it... If i go leather I will have to make it a rule that I only fuss over the leather once or twice a year

Well, the display car at the Silverstone preview looked really good - had a big list of 'options' it included and 'Full leather' wasn't on it but it turns out the car did have the full leather option so there may be some disappointed owners who receive the 'leatherette' (erm, that'll be plastic then).

Gone for leather on mine - again its a keeper, everyday car that I intend to track as well and I like Alcantara

Just a shame you can't have the CS option and retain the Leather+Alcantara seats

good luck with THAT!

however, like i stated before on my race car, it had full leather and based on the amount of dirt in it (it was a street car when i bought it used) i can assure you the leather was never cared for. zero delamination, still looked great once i wiped off the dirt. the car was a 1999. so these new leathers last a good long time.
