The additional washer fluid adds 7.7# with the xenon system..
I wonder if the weight reduction noted is wet or dry???

IMHO, BETTER TO SAVE WEIGHT FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR. XENONS ARE SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER FOR NIGHT DRIVING. SAVE THE WEIGHT BY ADDING THE SHARKWERKS CENTER SECTION OR OTHER LIGHTWEIGHT EXHAUST SYSTEM WHICH WILL MAKE THE CAR SOUND FANTASTIC. I AM INSTALLING THE CARGRAPHICS KIT 6 WHICH SAVES ABOUT 38LBS FROM BEHIND THE REAR WHEELS.

true there is a ton of stuff you can do to save weight from the aftermarket. however i was only looking at what can be done from the factory (i'm sure they can do more as well if you can pay for it and have the right contacts)
it is interesting in its own right although like a lot of things won't really do much in the real world for meer mortals like me.

don't let the chrome washers get in your way- the body color painted ones are only a few 100 bucks? I had them done on my cobalt gt3 and never noticed the washers at all.

I remember reading something about that. What could account for that difference?

Another one to drop those few extra lbs is to not even both with sport buckets and get a pair of Euro 996 Fiberglass GT3 (good) or Euro Club Sport Carbon (better) seats. They will save at least 10 lbs a seat over the optional sport buckets do to a lack of integral airbags...plus a small fee to the dealer to disable the airbad light.

Removing the A/C will also save 44 lbs (the same savings of a 997.1 RS over a 997.1 GT3).

True and that will also free up a tad more power (no compressor to spin), assuming you don't live in a place where A/C is a "must-have".
