Default Sport Auto Review

Review from Sport Auto de in German,

The best part is the video of the car on the Ring and Hockenheim.
The driver should be embarrassed as his H/T technique is the worst I've seen in a while. Not so good at speed on the Ring
A perfect candidate for PDK.

I really like that color. Hope they offer it on the RS.

Does he even blip? It was hard to tell. Rear tire chirp seems to indicate no, and that he lets the clutch out like a light switch. Hope he never gets the gate wrong... And a brake-duct/tub cam at 3:30 woulda been nice!

Most interesting was probably watching the amount of understeer that guy was fighting. Unless the new 3 has a lot more understeer dialed in, I wonder how much of that understeer is from not trailbraking in and then getting onto the throttle.

Very interesting link... thanks!

that video actually shows alot
- highspeed track like the ring - car looks great / neutral as delivered
- track with turns (hockenheim), car as delivered with OE tires and alignment ploughs like crazy in the slower turns

The lap times at both the Nurburgring and Hockemheim are very impressive, even more impressive the speed through turns. It beats the GT2 on the slow and medium speed turns.

Nurburgring Lap Times:

2008 GT2: 7:33
2008 430 Scuderia: 7:39
2010 GT3: 7:40

Hockenheim Lap Times:

2008 GT2: 1:10.0
2008 430 Scuderia: 1:10.3
2010 GT3: 1:10.4

0-200 kph (0-125 mph):

2008 430 Scuderia: 11.4 secs
2008 GT2: 11.5 secs
2010 GT3: 13.2 sec

I would not criticize Horst von Saurma driving, as he is one of the most experienced Nurburgring drivers. He has been driving every single car tested by Sport Auto magazine for the Super Test for many years.
