another GT2 vs GTR test...
...this time from the latest issue of Motor magazine (Oz publication)
sorry for crap images, i was too lazy to scan so i took photos with my camera...
pretty good, well balanced article. highest praises for both cars, while noting that they are very different animals, and the GT2 definitely the much stronger performer, albeit at a stratospheric premium vs the Nissan.
they gave 10/10 to the Porsche, and 9/10 to the GTR.
also did head to head on a racetrack, where the GT2 was clearly faster than the GTR. the GTR was only faster in one corner/section of track in fact.
interesting too the below chart. we all know that the GTR gets its impressive acceleration due to a combination of the trick dual clutch tranny, excellent AWD system, sticky tires, and aggressive gear ratios. but this chart graphically illustrates how much lower geared the GTR is-- between 20-30kmh lower in each gear...

Thanks for posting
The GTR is an awesome car!
Sold mine last year, figuring it is to much of an unknown on track and would take to long before there are more on track to share info with appose to Porsche.
10 months later I still do not see any of them on track......

I have seen a few on the track running in the slower groups. In my opinion, a very good thing to do is to track the beast to get a feel of what it can really do.

they are mostly sitting in the garages of dentists, not on the track (no offense to any dentists here) perhaps they arent on the track because they are too fragile or wasnt Nissan voiding warranties if they saw you on you tube doing a track event? have any of the US magazines done an expose' on the allegedly deceptive ring times Nissan originally claimed

the GTR went to the penthouse quicker than any new intro i can remember.
now, nobody cares. it's a 2-ton whale controlled by computers, the ultimate "driver's car" for folks who don't know how to drive. kind of like training wheels.

i think the really interesting articles will surface in the next 2-3 mos, as press cars are handed out for longer term tests, or comparisons with other cars.
of course the detailed Sport Auto supertest has already been done, where the GT3 got highest marks.

there were two GTRs at the last Proformance track day at pacific raceways (a black one and a silver one)
the black one was very quick all day... very quick
the silver one had immobilising tranny issues before lunch -- so the owner had his 997 GT3 brought to the track to finish out the day and had the Nissan dealer come flatbed his GTR to the dealership.
the black one is out there regularly... those are the only two I have seen at the track
